AIBU to take my DS to the GP for this?

My DS has developed a small mark on his forehead (pictures attached with and without flash). He's had it for around 8 months now. A Dr has already seen it when I took him for an appointment about his eczema and I mentioned this mark and said it's persistent and is it eczema as it didn't look like it to me. He just said "where?" and then didn't really comment on it further.

It wasn't there when he was born and at first it looked a bit like a spot, then it has stayed like this for about 6 months. It's not getting bigger or changing, but what is it?

Am I totally mad? Does anyone recognise what this could be? He's booked in for a GP appointment next week (earliest I could get).

Chicken pox scar?

ShowMePotatoSalad · 25/08/2017 10:10

He's not had chicken pox yet.

That is a bit odd. Go to a different GP and see what they say.

That looks almost exactly like a mark ds3 has, just below his rib cage.

He's only 3 months old but it definitely wasn't there at birth and only appeared at about 5 weeks. The Dr picked it up at his 6 week exam and had a good look and prod and concluded that it's a mark on the skin Grin.

It can't hurt to check though.

Looks like molluscum to me, they can stay for a few years but do disappear on their own usually.

That's what I am thinking - I would rather check and have that reassurance. The appointment next week is with a different dr.

He did used to have quite red, inflamed ezcema on his forehead so it's possible it's a scar from that perhaps. But I will definitely be having it checked.
