To think the weather forecast on channel4 is very weird

Yes, they show the weather forecast for London, Cardiff and Edinburgh but noticed they don't feature many other major cities in the UK at all but will give the weather forecast for places like Douglas, Lerwick, Stornoway, Hull. Is this not a bit weird or is it just me Confused

It's you. The use the 3 capital cities of GB as an example. Seems OK to me.

Look at it on a map. They give the weather over the most representative range of locations. They describe the weather fronts and the progress of the weather so that you can pretty much have a good idea of what you might expect and back that up with figures (wind speed, temp etc.) over a good geographic spread of locations meaning that everyone can pretty much use the two closest to get an idea.

Whereas providing data points for London, Birmingham, Manchester and Leeds would cover practically none of the country and if you lived in Stornoway you might as well just not bother to watch it.
