AIBU to not know what to do with my teen

Feel sorry for DD1 (13). She doesn't have any friends locally so can't just pop round to their houses. This school holiday DD2 (8) has had a few friends round and tomorrow her twin friends are coming round. Thinking of things to do with DD2 and her friends is not difficult - we have lots of parks to choose from. However DD1 is getting a bit old for that so doesn't want to come. I don't want to just be leaving her at home on her own but I do like to get out of the house every day if possible.

I also find it hard to know what we can do together when DD2 is at her friend's - all we seem to do is either watch a film or go shopping in town! It's got to the stage where we don't actually need anything so going shopping is pretty pointless. Any ideas welcome. Thanks

OP you could do loads

Bake, recycle clothes, homemade face packs, crafts including memory books, photo books etc... bucket list of 20 reasonable activities she would like to do..

Fashion parade... (done this with my nieces they loved it)

She'd coming to an age when she won't be bothered about doing things with her parents very often, for a while.
It's very normal. You don't need to entertain her. Yes, be her taxi if you can, if she wants to go somewhere, and just go out to lunch together now and then.

Are there any art, cooking, whatever, classes in your area? Maybe she would enjoy taking one.
