My hubs does this, my son (mid teens) does this, but as I was making a cuppa the other day and staring out the kitchen window, I also saw a roofer on the building site next door doing this too, and he was with two other male roofers ...

What do they all do? they shove their hands down their pants and rearrange their 'junk', yes, down the front! Not through the pockets!

To be fair, I've only seen hubs and son do this in the privacy of our home, but (for some unknown reason) I could not take my eyes off the roofer while he was doing it, more than once, on the roof, in front of two other roofer blokes .... that was, until the guy then tried to look like he was scratching his nose but really he was sniffing his fingers.

That's when I could watch no longer.

Am I the only one who finds this a disgusting habit? I mean, would it really be acceptable for me to be walking down the fridge aisle in Tesco one day and stop for a min to shove my hands down my pants to rearrange my flaps and re-position my panty liner, which has somehow caught half my bush in it?

Guys, do it in private, please?

@TeaCake5

And?

What's the problem with calling my husband, hubs?

OP posts:
Samoyedydog · 21/08/2017 21:12

Don't know why everyone's going on about 'hubs' and saying they don't know what it means, it's pretty obvious isn't it Confused it's not any more or less annoying than DH or DP if it means 'darling' or 'dear' husband which we all useConfused and OP YANBU it is gross!

FaveNumberIs2 · 21/08/2017 21:43

Thank you, @Samoyedydog

I've not been on here very long so I'm still getting used to all the text speak and still don't know what half of them mean.

Samoyedydog · 21/08/2017 21:49

@FaveNumberIs2 Sorry, I wasn't aiming that at you or anyone specifically it's just everyone seems to go mad when that word is mentioned. Fair enough if you genuinely don't know what it means but I feel like a lot of the time people just say it when they know full well what it means.

Samoyedydog · 21/08/2017 21:50

@FaveNumberIs2 oh you're the OP I though you were one of the people saying 'what's hubs' 😂

EvenworsethanGlen · 21/08/2017 22:09

they just automatically grab their bits and hold onto them

Just goes to show they haven't evolved as much as women.

EvenworsethanGlen · 21/08/2017 22:18

Do women not adjust their bras (the scoop up and put back in the cup trick) in public?

I can't believe you're likening boobs to genitals. Shock

FaveNumberIs2 · 21/08/2017 22:21

@Samoyedydog
😘😆😆

Haha! Yes I'm the op, the one getting into bother for calling my husband, hubs. :-)

I work with teenage boys. They do it ALL THE TIME. They don't wear a uniform and most are in joggies I am forever telling them to stop fiddling.
Then. THEN they get mad at ME for mentioning it!
I just tell you them, "when you stop touching your penis and scrotum in public I will stop telling you to stop it! Now go and wash your hands!"

PurpleMinionMummy · 21/08/2017 23:26

I made eye contact with a bloke doing this whilst walking along last week. He looked suitably ashamed when he realised he'd been spotted.

Solo · 22/08/2017 00:28

My last job was in a prison working with 1200+ men who almost all did it slight exaggeration and I'd constantly be asking them if it was still there!

This is one massive reason why nobody should bite/chew their finger nails. God knows what is going into your mouth!

OP, you are not being unreasonable about certain men and their disgusting habits but, you will always get the rib taken out of you for using 'hubs, hubby' etc. That's used over on the other site.

MyheartbelongstoG · 22/08/2017 00:37

Can move his marbles lol Grin

Seeingadistance · 22/08/2017 01:00

I've noticed a lot of young men seem to walk about in public with one or sometimes both hands down the front of their trousers, clutching their genitals. Tracky bottoms with elasticated waistbands make it too easy for them.

It's revolting.

Toadinthehole · 22/08/2017 05:35

I scratch with the left; shake hands with the right.

No, that's not an euphemism.

Sometimes they need to be rearranged, sometimes they need to be scratched. That's life.

nooka · 22/08/2017 05:56

I often catch dh with his hands down his pants. He tells me it's nice and warm there when I ask why. I don't think it's a very conscious action, although I've never seen him do it in public, just when he is relaxed at home and wearing jogging bottoms. ds doesn't do it at all so I don't think it's all men, just some of them.

leighb23 · 22/08/2017 08:00

Ok Fave, I'll read it again but it made no sense whatsoever when i read it originally!

FaveNumberIs2 · 22/08/2017 08:47

@leighb23 It was because another poster inferred that me not being able to take my eyes off the roofer with his hands down his pants said more about me, and how would my husband feel?

So I was just answering that. Xxx

leighb23 · 22/08/2017 10:37

I was reading it while very tired too! Haha x

KAT0779 · 22/08/2017 13:08

This makes me feel sick. I see people walking around outside doing it, walking around the supermarket doing it. My husband does it and I sometimes smell "that smell" on the remote controls etc. VILE.

onlyslightlyinterested · 22/08/2017 13:25

My Dh does this. He bends his knees, shoves his hand down and jiggles about. It's usually accompanied by a cry of ' oh me pods....' Delightful

Moussemoose · 22/08/2017 13:30

onlyslightlyinterested

And that story may well explain why you are only slightly interested........Wink

FaveNumberIs2 · 22/08/2017 16:58

@KAT0779 I think I threw up a little reading your post. 🤢

@onlyslightlyinterested hahaha! That's gross but hilarious!
