To think this a perfectly acceptable favourite tea/dinner/evening meal

OH thinks I am mad! Tonight I have not felt 100 % and had a cheese sandwich with some crisps for dinner.

We do this every now and then if we can't be bothered to cook.

We then talked about our absolute favourite meal ever and I realised mine is actually a cheese sandwich and crisps.

He agreed it is nice but absolute favourite?? Nooooo!!

Yes, they ar my favourite food too, especially if potato salad is somehow involved in the sandwich!

PollyFlint · 21/08/2017 14:26

I absolutely love food and cooking. I love eating out in restaurants and will happily spend a lot of money on a really amazing meal. I've eaten in lots of Michelin-starred places and love trying new, unusual or exciting dishes.

Despite this ... if I'm being absolutely honest, if was on Death Row and had to pick my last meal, I'd have baked beans on buttered white toast and a cup of tea.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 21/08/2017 14:29

I said really recently that sandwiches are my favourite meal. I said it to my 2y 8mo DD, who looked at me like this Hmm. Toddlers are so judgy!

Oysterbabe · 21/08/2017 14:30

I had a potato waffle sandwich with ketchup for lunch.
In mitigation, I'm pregnant.

Decaffstilltastesweird · 21/08/2017 14:30

Oh sorry and yanbu.

imjessie · 21/08/2017 15:37

I'm not fussed about food at all and I love a sandwich . I'd much prefer this to fancy meal ! I'm in!!

2017SoFarSoGood · 21/08/2017 15:53

Can still taste my old aunties tinned salmon on white bread and loads of butter. Can't replicate it, but her DH did perfectly after she died.

YADNBU. Good cheese sandwiches are the food of the gods. DH believes he may eat only cheese in heaven. Oh. And cakes. Poor high cholesterol guy 😳 I'm doing him a favor and making a good inroads on all of it here on earth.

Dina1234 · 21/08/2017 15:57

I will never understand the whole sandwich and crisps thing. The two just really don't go together.

sashh · 21/08/2017 15:59

Every so often I will have 2 boiled eggs and toast soldiers - great dinner if I don't want to cook.

Fairylea · 21/08/2017 16:02

My dh would agree with you Grin personally I really don't like the whole crisps and sandwich thing, but then I am not fond of crisps much anyway.

My death row meal would be Chinese take away- chicken in black bean sauce with egg fried rice, chow mein and prawn toast with hoi sin sauce for dipping. Followed by homemade rice pudding. Grin

Talith · 21/08/2017 16:36

Tomato soup, cheese, and bread and butter is my absolute favourite thing to eat. YANBU.

orangesinpyjamas · 21/08/2017 19:38

I am tempted to eat it again tonight after a hard day.. I really should choose something a tad more nutritious though..

I love soup too. Another favourite.

YANBU. Chillax, take a chill pill as the children say. If the meal gets you full, it means it's a perfectly acceptable meal. x

Angelicinnocent · 21/08/2017 20:40

Pp mentioned potted meat. That's definitely the best if you add walkers salt and vinegar crisps to it.

BarbaraofSevillle · 21/08/2017 20:43

I really like potted meat, before everyone piles in to say 'oh can you still get that, I didn't realise anyone ate it anymore'. I especially like it on buttered white toast.

But I much prefer hot food to cold and 99% of the time would have a cheese toastie not a cheese sandwich.

Like a PP, I generally only eat sandwiches out of necessity not choice, except when I get a bit of an afternoon tea obsession. Sandwiches are much better if accompanied by scones, jam and cream.

Sciurus83 · 21/08/2017 21:15

Jacket potato, cheese and beans, coleslaw and a bit of salad. The best.

Bloomed · 22/08/2017 00:27

I'd like to have potted meat again. That was a feature of picnics! I'd probably have some chipsticks on the side.

Yerroblemom1923 · 23/08/2017 23:11

What is potted meat?
