I am staying in a University's Halls of Residence and, some idiot, has woken me up practicing guitar! 7 am on a weekend! I had planned to miss breakfast. 😡

You're in a halls of residence and expected peace and quiet on a weekend? YABU. Wait until more start getting in from last night Smile

This block is for visitors, during the summer holidays, so the majority of us here are over 50!

Breakfast has started so peace now ensues 😀

YANBU at all; the rogue guitarist is being a selfish twat.

But whenever anyone starts a thread about early morning noise a few people chip in with "7am? WE'VE been up for two hours with the DCs by then. We can't possibly refrain from mowing the lawn/practising scales on a trombone/staging a family production of Les Mis/knocking down our old chimney breast just because some lazy slobs expect to sleep beyond sunrise at the weekend."

These are usually the same people who think they can tell their neighbours not to flush the loo at 9pm because they're in bed.

7am for me is two hours after I get up, so not early, but then being disturbed at 11pm is being disturbed in the middle of the night. Maybe he's on the same time zone than me! Or maybe he'd only just got back from a very very late night and now asleep, in which case, he might come posting complaining you woke him up at noon!

What sort of guitar was being played?

Dolly I have spoken to him and he's told me he was playing quietly! I've told him I'm not a morning person so if he doesn't want his guitar rammed where the sun don't shine he's better not do it tomorrow! He's agreed to go in the kitchen Smile

Miranda Spanish guitar but he was repeating the same phrases over and over again!

Spring He was up later than me (now I know who it is)

Someone has just started playing the bagpipes! I'm glad they weren't practicing those at 7 am! Grin
