I should add that I've always washed the outer case by hand. The inner box goes into the dishwasher though!

Don't use ice packs. Freeze cartons of juice instead.

We can't send any drinks other than water into school.

I found a fab coolbag in costco that is the exact size of the yumboxes and can have 2 thin ice packs in separate pockets either side. We only use one and it keeps everything cool all day.

Likewise Helipad.

One of the catches went after being dropped onto the playground. Phoned yumbox and a replacement catch arrived the next day at no cost.

MyfatheristheKing · 18/08/2017 20:02

mums that's just the snack size one, not the regular lunch box

andbabymakesthree · 18/08/2017 20:38

We have three ! Either won or brought reduced. They are fab but we need to use them more. We've got lazy with lunches.

Faithless12 · 18/08/2017 20:42

No. We have one. Haven't used it since DS has been eligible for free school meals but it was really good. He loved it. I would possibly look at getting the newer version as it is hard to get a proper sandwich in the original version. They are really easy to clean out although I'd be tempted to buy a spare tray so the turn around isn't so tight. I would make the lunches in the evening and put it in the fridge but you are also cleaning it not long before and it never felt like it get properly dry except over the weekends. I'm tempted by their snack box variation.
