in not liking the new version Tesco on-line shop?

BabsGanoush · 16/08/2017 09:14

I liked my shopping lists - I had one for my favourites, one for special offers only, one for Christmas etc

I also liked being able to write my list and add items in order. Now I have to write each item individually.

Can any recommend Sainsburys or, ahem, Asda? Sadly no Waitrose or Ocada around here.

I would avoid Asda like the plague - I've only used them 3 times, and every time there has been a major error with the order. Not tried Sainsbury's - but I do agree that the old style Tesco site was better.

VerbenaGirl · 16/08/2017 09:24

I know! We always used the type your own list bit! Why would they get rid if that??!! Complain to them (I have). Maybe if they get enough negative feedback they'll bring it back? Until then, Sainsburys online is okay too. Just need to watch out, as they don't price match substitute items (I think).

thecatsthecats · 16/08/2017 09:42

Are you using the mobile version or desktop?

I was furious with the changes - ended up buying all sorts of random gubbins without my list, and the website was really slow too. I have found my old shopping lists online since though, but only on desktop.

I don't use type your own list, but it does seem to be there on desktop?

Maybe everyone posted a message as angry as mine after the chirpy 'We've got rid of your shopping lists' message. Who the fuck thought that was a good idea?

Definitely don't use ASDA. I've tried on 3 occasions and each time they have completely messed my order up. On the last occasion they delivered less than half of my order yet somehow charged for the whole lot, so I sent it back on the door only to have to wait over a month for the refund. I even had to go into ASDA twice and make a fuss before I got my money back.

I've recently changed from Tesco to Sainsbury's and I prefer Sainsbury's, although I'm not sure why Smile

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 16/08/2017 09:56

They're still there on desktop and app (for now).

But I've cancelled my delivery saver plan and said why. Ive been thinking about trying out Sainsburys but it was too much effort, what with setting up new shopping lists and all. Sainsburys, here I come ...

SealSong · 16/08/2017 09:59

Morrisons is good, I use them all the time for online grocery shopping.
Nice useable website with customer product reviews, inexpensive delivery pass, reliable, good prices, good fresh produce.

heavenlypink · 16/08/2017 10:04

I've never had any major problems with Asda. I don't know if that is down to what I order or just a regional/store issue. On the occasions I have had problems I've either had refunds at the door or done online in a matter of days. In answer to your original post @BabsGanoush I can't answer the query on the lists. The facility is there but I've never set them up.

BabsGanoush · 16/08/2017 10:05

I'm use a laptop and the lists have disappeared.

Don't worry - I gave them my feedback alright Angry

I may give Sainsbo's a try.

As a side note a few Christmas's back Tesco randomly added 'Christmas' items to one of my shopping lists, like blue cheese and a soft drink. Cheeky buggers - it's a good job I checked and didn't just clicked 'buy' .

thecatsthecats · 16/08/2017 10:16

I go to 'Groceries - Favourites - Shopping Lists' and they're still there. I have a Delivery Saver plan - don't know if that makes a difference?

Yes to the Christmas list! WTF was that? I had a special 'christmas shop' list set up, and they overwrote it/combined it with their own, so I had doubles of items :s

CreamCheeseBrownies · 16/08/2017 10:20

Thanks for this, that reminds me I need to cancel my delivery saver today. Can't be doing without the typed-in shopping list function.

Tulipblank · 16/08/2017 10:21

I like morrisons. Used to use Asda but gave up due to numerous issues. Morrisons have always been on time with few substitutions.

Ilovefraybentos · 16/08/2017 10:22

Another vote for not using Asda! I tried them when I wanted a break from Tesco and of the four orders I made, every single one had stuff missing. Their online refund system is ace though.

MrsJoyOdell · 16/08/2017 10:26

This pissed me right off too. I've sent feedback expressing my anger. The main reason I've always used Tesco was the website being easiest to use, the facility to shop with my own list and the price matched subs. It took me 3 hours to do this weeks shop!! If I can't get it any better next week I'm going to Sainsbury's, they're the only one left that I like who do a list. Asda don't do it and they're shocking, Ocado is too expensive for me and Morrisons don't deliver probably because they're 5 minutes walk away

StoorieHoose · 16/08/2017 10:36

I still have my lists. And the app is up to date. Don't use Asda they are shite

StoorieHoose · 16/08/2017 10:40

I don't have my lists on the desktop version though! If they remove t from the app I'll be cancelling my delivery saver and going to Sainsbury's.

Only thing I don't like about Sainsbury's is they knock the door THEN go and get the shopping - leaving me standing at the door and the dog barking his head off

fleshmarketclose · 16/08/2017 10:42

I like Morrisons, easy to use and they use warehouses rather than getting goods from supermarket shelves like Tesco and Sainsburys which seems to mean substitutions are rare.
I really dislike the Sainsburys site, it seems muddled and it's not so easy to spot the offers although food and delivery has always been good. Tesco delivery around here is poor, lots of substitutions and poor quality fresh food. Wouldn't touch Asda tbh as I've never heard anyone say anything good about it.

Dragonglass · 16/08/2017 11:13

I never used the shopping lists function. I just go through my favourites when booking a shop.

The problem I ma having is that I cannot get the website to work on Chrome. It works fine on Edge but I get an error when I try to sign in on the site in Chrome. It's a pain as I use Chrome as my default browser and have to use Edge just for Tesco.

BabsGanoush · 16/08/2017 12:59

Right, not using Asda, but had forgotten about Morrisons.

This is my Favourites page now -

Omg yes!! I was going to post about this the other day so I'm glad is not just me. It's SO slow now! It takes forever to load. I spent well over an hour the other day on there, that little loading thing in the basket which takes for ever to put the item in the basket. I am actually considering switching I hate it so much! If it's not broke don't fix it.

JellyBabiesSaveLives · 16/08/2017 13:46

Customer services have jsut told me "the Shopping list function is expected to return in the near future".

At the moment I still have lists on desktop in Firefox.

I may investigate Morrisons anyway though.

CreamCheeseBrownies · 16/08/2017 23:19

Well that was dissatisfying. Tesco agreed to cancel my delivery saver no questions asked, so I didn't get any opportunity to moan.

I used to like Morrisons but they don't cover our area. Hmm.

girlFRI3 · 15/01/2018 11:34

anyone know how to get a Desktop Shortcut for Tesco Online Sh or other online shopping sites ?

MyLittleEye · 04/06/2018 00:10

There is another way! - You can create lists at MySupermarket.co.uk and it will compare the prices across all available supermarkets and delivery services. You can book slot and prepare your order in MySupermarket and then it'll transfer your order to the supermarket you choose. It works remarkably well and is better than the original Tesco List feature as far as I'm concerned! - www.mysupermarket.co.uk/shelves/my_Lists_in_Tesco.html
