To think MNers need to see this today

It's been a tough week at MNHQ and the gin cupboard is almost bare. Am I wrong in thinking long term MNers will feel better for seeing this and remembering what a helpful lot we can be.

No, It was me that put the Mumsnet T-shirt on the bat. And the link always used to be to my Picasa album, which is why I had one picture with about 12,000 views and all the rest with six. Now of course it can be found in many places and Picasa is no more.

I didn't click. So proud of myself. I think it's the first time I didn't fall for that.

I've been here since before UCM's epic namechange fail. The only thing I've ever missed was the mouldies flouncing as we were in the middle of moving to the US and didn't have internet for 7 days. 7 days, and the whole of MN went 'poof'. By the time I was back on, any hint of a mention of mouldies & the thread got zapped. It took me a while to work out just WTF had happened.

I mean I feel like people do the "name changed here but long time poster, cancel the check, lemon drizzle c*nt, Maui, Sharon and the wasp" thing is because there are a certain subset of people here who view everyone with suspicion and a name they don't recognize sends up a panic of TROLL IN THE DUNGEON even before anyone bothers reading the post.

I feel like some people name change because they want advice on something too outing to connect to their usual name, so they name change and do the "I'm not new" dance as a sort of password to fend off troll hunters, basically. I may not be right about EVERYONE who does this but I'd wager it's a statistically significant portion.

Batted 3 times! I am out of practice.
