Totally irrational dislike for actors/actresses??

What is it about certain actors/actresses that just make you dislike them for no reason at all?
I was just looking at the web and Melissa George (Home and Away, and others) and i just really don't like her. I have no idea why though? I don't dislike other female actresses?

do you dislike anyone famous for no reason?

How has no one mentioned Stephen Fry yet? Tedious prima donna who talks about how he doesn't care if what he says offends people, then takes offence at the smallest slight and flounces off Twitter.Julie Burchill calling him "a stupid person's idea of a clever person" was bang on the money.

ClarkWGriswold · 15/08/2017 13:29

I've never liked Nicole Kidman. She just seems so robotic to me.

MikeUniformMike · 15/08/2017 13:35

Stephen Fry is ok when acting. It's the Stephen Fry persona I dislike.
Nicole Kidman is someone I'm not sure about. Not seen her in much but don't understand the fuss.
Chris Packham and Rob Brydon also give me the creeps.

I struggle to get on board with anything Burchill says when she left both of her ex-husbands as single fathers and has never shown any interest in either of her sons. She didn't even see her son between the ages of 5 and 15, and then only saw him once every few years, but went to the media portraying herself as the victim.

I'll put her on my list actually!

Not an actress, but Lulu does it for me. That mid Atlantic drawl descending into a exaggerated Scottish accent when she remembers where she's from does my nut in.

I've lived away from Scotland for over 30 years but still sound exactly the same.

Oh and agree with Amanda Abbington, I don't think she's very nice AT ALL.

SamanthaBrique · 15/08/2017 15:12

Emily Ratajkowski. Claims to be an actress but does little other than post skimpily-clad pics on Instagram and then writes essays about how it's her right to do so as a feminist and it's empowering etc etc. Get your tits out as much as you want love, but don't pretend it's for any reason other than male attention!

The80sweregreat · 15/08/2017 15:30

Lulu is annoying - the accent thing is irritating.
Twiggy
Nicole kidman is odd - she does play some strange characters.

heartstornastray · 15/08/2017 18:48

Claire Sweeney, but only when she smiles, too much gum.

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/08/2017 18:51

I came on here to see how quickly someone would say Kiera Knightley Grin

I don't know what it is about that woman but she winds me up as well!!

PollyFlint · 15/08/2017 19:05

Jim Carrey makes me feel physically sick. STOP PULLING FUCKING FACES YOU RUBBER-FACED WANKER.

I'm glad I've got that off my chest really.

justanotheryoungmother · 15/08/2017 19:19

Olivia Coleman- she just bugs me Hmm

DustinGee · 15/08/2017 19:50

I quite like Keira Knightley...although I don't think she's a very good actress. She does seem to be someone who hasn't (yet) disappeared up her own arse. There was a blind supposedly about her saying that she's desperate not to get a nanny but can't get her husband to step up with the childcare.

I can't fucking stand:

Carole Vorderman
Emma Watson (worst actress in the world)
Chloe "Look at my abs" Madeley
Ricky Gervais - who I used to love back in the XFM/The Office/Extras days but who has turned into an unpleasant, ego-maniacal monster
Emily Ratatouille (or something) who has nothing to offer the world except her bare arse and tits, evidently
Phillip Schofield - insincere, unpleasant (personal experience) with a fake hyena laugh

QueenoftheAndals · 15/08/2017 20:05

I've seen Keira in a couple of plays and she's been excellent - no simpering whatsoever!

Rebecca Hall irritates me, mainly because she's got where she is due to privilege and nepotism.

Loopytiles · 16/08/2017 14:04

Isn't that the case for most people in the creative industries?!

QueenoftheAndals · 16/08/2017 14:06

To a certain extent, but having a dad who was director of the National Theatre probably helped the most! She's not a bad actress, just a fairly unremarkable one.

Can't abide:
Barbara Windsor - I'd be sued if I said what I thought.
Jessica Raine - not sure why, but I get the impression she could be difficult, if not a bit spiteful in real life.
Andie MacDowall (ruined 4WAAF)
Miranda Hart. Not funny and can't act.

Tom Hiddleston. Cringe making when he's being himself. Someone sew that man's mouth up.
Tom Cruise - because his ego is such that the little shrimp thought he could be a convincing 6ft 5" hard man, Jack Reacher. Well, um, no actually.
David Walliams. Can't act for toffee.
Gerard Butler. Alas, gone to seed.

There are others .....

Tiddler7 · 16/08/2017 16:27

Idris Elba ruined Alex Cross for me totally. Morgan Freemam all the way.

Kazzyhoward · 16/08/2017 19:15

Have to agree with Tom Cruise - no way on earth should he have played Jack Reacher - completely ruined a good book!

Teddy1970 · 16/08/2017 19:58

Billie Piper, she seemed to be in every period drama not so long ago and it really used to get on my wick, I'm sure she only got the parts because she was married to Lawrence Fox at the time...

BabychamSocialist · 16/08/2017 21:53

Tiddler7

That's an achievement considering he isn't in it! Although I do agree he's awful.

I don't see the attraction to him at all.

OxfordshireLass · 16/08/2017 23:25

I'm quite fond of Emma Watson. Would rather kids looked up to her than a Kardashian/reality 'star'. Saying that, I've not seen her in anything other than kids' films.
