Totally irrational dislike for actors/actresses??

What is it about certain actors/actresses that just make you dislike them for no reason at all?
I was just looking at the web and Melissa George (Home and Away, and others) and i just really don't like her. I have no idea why though? I don't dislike other female actresses?

do you dislike anyone famous for no reason?

Ray Winstone , I think he's a terrible actor. And his London accent is almost a parody of itself in those betting adverts.

Justin Timberlake. Can't explain why , but have disliked since the days of NSYNC.

Helen Mirren . Again , irrational but I just dislike.

Henrythehoover · 14/08/2017 06:57

Matt Damon for me I fell asleep in the cinema at the first Bourne identity. I just find him really unwatchable and I have no idea why. I've tried other films of his and just loose interest.

Also Hugh Grant but that may be the fact I hate rom come and he just seems to be the same person in any I've seen.

highinthesky · 14/08/2017 07:22

Have read the thread slack-jawed: do any of these folk deserve your brain-space?!

Although I am convinced that there is a secret club that turns very plain actresses into "beauties" by virtue of their blonde hair and skinny figures. Paltrow, Aniston and Johansson top that list. There's nothing wrong with them per se, but they are sufficiently self-absorbed to save me the trouble of taking any interest in them.

ManyManyShoes · 14/08/2017 07:32

Cheryl Cole or Tweedy. Everything about her is so fake from the hair to the voice.
And she speaks like a playground bully.

MrsJayy · 14/08/2017 08:10

Benedict cumberbatch makes me want to tear my eyes out The Dds love Sherlock i sit and mutter everytime they watch it and him as Dr strange urgh

jajabonks · 14/08/2017 08:10

Yes that's it Ryan Reynolds urgh his voice just irritates me.
Also cat deeley, the way she talks sides ways out of her mouth. Also another for Amanda Holden oh and Rochelle hulmes from the Saturdays

MrsJayy · 14/08/2017 08:14

Tom Hardy far to up his own backside and very pouty. I think i need to delete my Mn account after that confession

Bemusedandpuzzled · 14/08/2017 08:19

YY to Tom Hardy. My DH has a better arse than that. Wink

MeredithLogue · 14/08/2017 09:25

Not an actor but not irrational, Richard madeley and throwing in the selfie loving Chloe!

SilverySurfer · 14/08/2017 10:14

So many already listed but my long list begins with:

Lorraine Kelly - irrational but one second on my tv is too long
Nigella Lawson - hideously overdone
Emma Thompson - for describing this country as a 'tiny cake-filled misery-laden island which must stay in EU'
Coleen Nolan - same as L Kelly
Woman on Oral B ad - gormless
Jamie Oliver - threatened to emigrate if Leave won the referendum - it did so why hasn't he fucked off?
Kate Winslet - holier than thou
Russel Brand - cretin

I always get a sharp intake of breath when I say this in real life but I feel that I can say this here:

I cannot STAND Jackie Chan.

ethelfleda · 14/08/2017 14:27

Can't stand Tom Cruise or Channing Tatum

But I like Keira Knightly and Emma Watson Blush

squoosh · 14/08/2017 14:32

Keira Knightley seemed very nice when she was on Graham Norton's show and I like how she doesn't live a celeb life. It's just the acting I'm not overly keen on.

llangennith · 14/08/2017 15:03

Keira Knightly. Not sure why.

AAAAARGH2017 · 14/08/2017 15:16

Does anyone else have a dislike of Emilia Fox? Hmm Can't bear her and have to switch over.

I don't know if it's irrational though.......she reminds me of someone in RL who I have a completely rational dislike of Grin

TreacleFarl · 14/08/2017 15:33

Cannot stand Martin Freeman and don't understand why he gets the amount of work he does. His interviews don't paint him as a nice person and any comments made on his acting are met with a defensive 'who the fuck are you to say this to me?' attitude.
I'm a big Sherlock fan but he just grates on me.

Love Benedict Cumberbatch but know he isn't everyone's cup of tea.

I cannot watch anything with Kenneth Branagh or Nicholas Cage in it.

Not an actor but always wonder how Paddy McGuiness got so lucky as to be given a job on television.

MrsJayy · 14/08/2017 16:36

There is an air about Martin Freeman i don't like, he was on graham norton and he made me uncomfy watching him

Loopytiles · 14/08/2017 16:43

Heard Ed Sheeran on Desert Island Discs and thought he came across as self absorbed and arrogant, especially about his girlfriend.

On the same programme David Beckham seemed very media trained - in a bad way - and fake when talking about Victoria and charity work, and the scandal about his ruthless charity email came out shortly after.

Beadieeye · 14/08/2017 16:57

Just thought of another one 😂
The sight of Bruce Willis irks me on a visceral level. His face makes me gip a bit.
Definitely irrational

squoosh · 14/08/2017 17:03

Martin Freeman is the worst. An average looking, averagely talented actor, who acts as though he's Gielgud and Olivier reincarnated. He's always just Tim from The Office.

angularmerkel · 14/08/2017 17:03

QueenMortificado has said everything I needed to.

Keira Knightley, please close your mouth before something flies in there.

BabychamSocialist · 14/08/2017 17:07

Beyonce - cannot STAND her. She comes off as so egotistical and self-important, and she really buys into the hype about herself. You'd think nobody had ever given birth before! Sick of all the fawning articles like: "Oh, doesn't Beyonce look AMAZING 2 weeks after giving birth?" - yeah, course she does. That's the benefit of having an army of nannies and helpers. She's not going to be getting up at 3 in the morning to change a nappy, is she?

Anne Hathaway always strikes me as someone who tries desperately to be quirky and is a pain in the backside.

Justin Timberlake is yet another who seems to buy his own hype. He was the best singer in N*Sync (not saying much) who went on to become a mediocre singer and then a mediocre actor. Yawn.

Leonardo DiCaprio can fuck right off as well. Don't think I've ever seen a film where he actually disappeared into a character. Didn't get why people said he deserved an Oscar either. Oh, and his faux climate change concern annoys me. Goes on about it, starts a 'charity' but still takes private jets and parties on heavily polluting yachts with supermodels. As someone who is a big environmental activist, he ain't helping!

ladyyyglittersparkles · 14/08/2017 17:10

Peter fucking Andre.
Smug bastard!!!

Floralnomad · 14/08/2017 17:14

Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman , can't abide either of them . I'm not keen on Nicholas Lyndhurst either , I fail to understand how he has managed to keep getting jobs , he is totally unconvincing in everything .

SunshineBearHug · 14/08/2017 17:15

Tess Daly (although I feel sorry for her. Will Smith.
