When I say I fucking loath bad customer service?

I have a lovely sideboard from Very.co.uk and wanted the TV unit, so waited patiently until it was listed as 'in stock'.

The moment it came back into stock, I bought it straight away and arranged the delivery date.

I had known delivery date for quite a while.

Fast forward to yesterday morning, 8amish (the arranged delivery date), and I got a text to say they would attempt to deliver my parcel between 10am and 12pm that day.

I waited in all day and still nothing. Nothing at all.

My uncle was prepared to wait in for us for it to come - Said he could do with the day off anyway (he is self employed so doesn't get paid if he doesn't work!). Luckily enough I declined the offer and waited in myself trying out my new body lotions and potions

I phoned up today to enquire where my order was. You can hardly understand the people who work on these phone lines for Very, their accents are thick and their English isn't great. The woman on the phone seemed very offish from the word go.

Apparently, it wasn't delivered because it's not in stock Angry She said I either have the option to cancel the order or wait for it to come back into stock.

I said I would wait until it comes back in stock as it matches my sideboard, but is there any estimate when that might be? She said no, they can't say as they don't know.

So I then went on to say, "okay, so if I wait cow it to come back into stock, what will happen? Will someone call to arrange a delivery date? Will I receive correspondence via text?"

She said just keep checking your Very account and see. I don't know what she means by this - Feeling very frustrated I left the call there.

AIBU to bloody well hate bad customer service and bad customer care? I feel very sad about it, not just the inconvenience.

I would wait in all week for it if I knew it was coming. I love it that much (the TV unit) Sad

Well very is just littlewoods but charges you interest. Check the order is still live and they should email you when it's been dispatched. I get an email when my parcel moves an inch from littlewoods.

Out of interest have you checked littlewoods to see if the same ones in stock there?

Hi gamer, yes checked Littlewoods and they don't have it in stock either.

I checked the two equally whilst waiting for it to arrive back in stock etc

Tweet your complaint, they respond quickly to that.
We've had misery with a fridge from very, as soon as my partner tweeted compensation was forth coming and a discount.

We had the exact same issue with very about two years ago. Ordered a tv stand really nice one, out of stock came back in and we had between times for delivery. The day and time came and went and no tv stand.
We had the exact excuse, wasn't in stock. It appears that it was to be direct shipped from the manufacturer bypassing very so to them it appeared in stock on their system but not actually with the manufacturer. After some song and dance we ended up with no Tv stand and some money as a good will gesture on our account.
Clearly they haven't changed!

They also told us to keep checking our account for a new delivery date, a week or so went by and I lost interest in the TV stand as they couldn't say when it would be!

I had the exact same scenario but much better service. We ordered a cot mattress as it had a good offer and we had a money off voucher. They then told.us it would be 6 weeks for delivery as it was out of stock, took time off and it never turned up. I always use their online chat service though as I agree their telephonists arent great. I got my delivery fee refunded and a £10 goodwill gesture.

It's so ridiculous, isn't it?

I will try tweeting them. Hopefully they can help. I've been very inconvenienced and I'm really upset that I don't even know if I'll have one or not.

It matches my sideboard so will feel very angry if it gets discontinued!
