Hi mums-net please can you help?

I purchased 2 beautiful sofa cushions recently from a well known department store,
They are creamy beige velour with a lovely silver foil leaf pattern.
Iv probably had them for say 2 months but kept them in the cupboard whilst I was decorating.
So had them on the sofa for just a few days.

Anyway iv just gone to straighten up the sofa and fluff them up only to find that as they have been squished about and leant on, the print of the cushion has rubbed onto my leather sofa and has left silver flash marks which looks like scratches of silver all over the seats 😞
However the actual cushion print seems unaffected so it's not lifted the pattern off just sort of shared itself on to the seat.

Iv tried everything to get it off but it's buggered and ain't moving it seems to be deep into the leather.
Im not sure what the best course of action would be? I mean it's pointless taking them back now as the sofa Is 'well in a word nakard', now anyway
So my question is what would you wise m'netters do? And what would you think Is reasonable for me to ask of them in response to this.
There was no warning signs/cautions with them and sofa cushions do get leant on and used so not really something I couldn't have avoided happening.

My sofa is tan btw.
well tan & silver 😣

Thanks MN in advance hoping for your usual wisdom and advise!
Suffering brain fog atm due to sever anaemia, ironically iv spent all night in a&e after collapsing yesterday and have been discharged to said sofa under strict instructions to rest until I have my transfusions on Monday .
Feeling rather peed tbf as iv spent the last 2 hours trying remove the stains so I can park my shattered arce on it!

Sorry for the rant guys having bad day!

Contact the company you bought the cushions from and complain? Or claim on your contents insurance?

YEH im going to contact them im just wondering what would be fair of me to request they do to fix the issue if you get what I mean? I really don't want to claim on my home ins as its there fault. So YEH im going to speak to them and take it from there, you just wouldn't expect that to happen and they weren't cheap either so no excuse for using cheap materials .
Nightmare not what you want to be doing on your day off Sad
