To wonder how the fuck I'm going to clean this?! Potty training woes!

So the potty training toddler has managed to poo everywhere, covering himself and his pjs. No problem. But somehow he's managed to get poo inside this toy!! The mind boggles. I'm guessing he had a rummage and then picked up the ball to put inside it Confused

Any suggestions? I can't believe anyone else had experience of this particular problem!

Throw it away. Not worth the poo infection risk.

Queenofthestress · 10/08/2017 19:18

I lobbed ds's out!

NancyDonahue · 10/08/2017 19:18

Can you somehow wrap the balls in baby wipes and send them in to - hopefully - wipe up the poo? Grin

OwlinaTree · 10/08/2017 19:18

Was that after a similar incident Queen?

It's a fucking annoying toy anyway, DS jammed his with loads of stuff that shouldn't have gone in there, admittedly no shit though. Bin it.

OwlinaTree · 10/08/2017 19:19

I like your thinking nancy

It is that weasel. I've spent many an afternoon poking things out with a skewer. I don't think that method will be effective here.

Take the batteries out and put it in the dishwasher ?

OwlinaTree · 10/08/2017 19:27

I think that would wreck the mechanisms sparkling?

I was wondering about a J cloth loop, if I tied several J cloths together, maybe I could kind of floss?

Dishwashers don't sterilise, and the water would still kill it.

NicolasFlamel · 10/08/2017 19:33

I think I'd bin it. If you try shoving wipes and things in there won't it just push poop further into it all?

demirose87 · 10/08/2017 19:33

Under a shower then soak in Milton

SparklingBollox · 10/08/2017 23:02

Tbh I was only joking about the dishwasher, it was a shit reference to the toilet brush in the dishwasher thing.
I would do what demirose suggested.

OwlinaTree · 11/08/2017 06:42

Toilet brush in the dishwasher! Shock I know some mumsnetters have a toilet brush aversion, but that's rank!

Think I'm going to try hot soapy water but hold it upside down so the water doesn't get in the working bits.

HareTodayDragonTomorrow · 11/08/2017 06:50

I would soak it In hot soapy water and let it dry, 48 hrs before turning electronics back on. If you can't clean it, it's going in the bin. If it is cleaned and survives, you can use it. If it doesn't survive, it'll go in the bin anyway.

Queenofthestress · 11/08/2017 14:21

Yeah it was after DS decided to stick a poo covered ball in it, although in hindsight one of those bendy drain cleaner brushes would have got it out, or just taking it apart lol

MyheartbelongstoG · 11/08/2017 14:23

Shower and then disinfectant. I'd prob use bleach

HipsterHunter · 11/08/2017 14:27

dishwasher

Then run the dishwasher on a hot wash clean cycle afterwards. Poo germs aren't going to survive that.

LurkingQuietly · 11/08/2017 14:40

That toy does unscrew. Voice of bitter experience as my kids love it and also love putting stuff in it that doesn't belong. No shit though so I feel I'm winning Wink

HipsterHunter · 11/08/2017 15:09

Or just bin it

zoobaby · 11/08/2017 16:18

My opinion is if DC does something to effectively "kill" a toy then I'm perfectly allowed to attempt to salvage it using a technique which may in fact result in "proper killing" of said toy. Grin

Personally I'd attempt the flossing technique and then the upside down dipping technique that have already been mentioned keeping the binning technique in reserve.
