Go into work with possible mumps

Hi all - I work as a freelance and am currently contracted with an amazing company, love the job, people etc and most of all need the money. My face started to swell earlier today, and without seeing me the out-of-hours doctor has diagnosed mumps via phone.
I'm a fucking sight, but my real worry is that I will infect others in the office. Anyone any experience? Am I OK to go into the office? I feel fine, just look like a hamster.

Also if you have been into work in the last 7 days please let them know as you'll have been contagious for a few days.

You go to work with mumps and every guy you work with will call you every name under the sun!

You need to tell the company you have been working for that you have mumps and then I assume they will let the other employees know there has been a case of mumps.

I know that this is what happened when someone had had contact with rubella in an office where I used to work. It was to let anyone who was pregnant to get advice from their midwife.

Thank F you're not going in!!!

My cousin had mumps when he was a child (despite the vaccine) and it was awful! He was so, so poorly and he lost his hearing completely because of it. Sad getting mumps has had such a profound effect on his entire life and he would give anything to turn the clock back and somehow so himself contracting it. It's so bloody sad!

Please do inform anyone you're been in contact with to. It's really, really serious!
