Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

The level of injury these days for an ABH charge is quite high. I'd expect a Common Assault, imagining the slight physical injuries likely to be involved. Thankfully.

But good old MN - bike bashing when the thread is about pedestrians....Hmm

Snickers "This is the moment before he pushes her. I see one foot in front of the other."

I agree. I've watched the video over and over, paused it, slowed it down, and watched it as it is. Just as he reachers her, her legs appear to me to be very close together and one in front of the other, both down on the floor or very near it. As anyone walking normally would have them.

The leg in the air people can see at the edge of her coat isn't her leg lashing out at him, it's his leg up as he runs, but the angle of the video means her coat is just in the way.

If nothing else, if it were her leg at that angle it's a really weird way to lift it to trip someone. Nobody lifts their leg up that high to walk, or has it raised in that position to trip someone. But I really don't think it's her leg that we can see.

Her leg only comes out towards him as she's shoved sideways and is already falling towards the road, and she falls quickly and with some force.

I agree with the people who say he veers towards her before he pushes her as well. She had nowhere to go but onto the road, unless she crossed his path first, and why would she do that if it meant getting in his way just to get out of it?. He had the whole pavement at the other side to run on, but he seems to aim at her.

She, and the bus driver, must have been terrified. And it's not just her that could have been killed. There's a car at the other side of that bus, as the bus swerves to miss her the driver of that car must have thought the bus was going to hit them.

They could also have been killed if it had hit them, or they could also have swerved and hit someone else. He might have had more than one injury or death on his hands had things been just slightly different.

thereallochnessmonster · 08/08/2017 17:13

Bastard. He completely ignored the man who walked past him - too much of a coward, I expect. But he veered towards the woman and shoved her. For no reason at all.

She did NOT try to trip him - am amazed by posters who think she did. Hmm As she falls, her leg goes up.

He should go to prison for that.

A man pushes a woman in front of a moving bus.

The Police have been investigating this for months.

In hope of identifying the man who pushed the woman in front of the moving bus, Police release CCTV footage.

Some people viewing the CCTV released by the Police look at it and decide that the woman WHO WAS PUSHED IN FRONT OF A MOVING BUS might have tried to trip up the man WHO PUSHED HER IN FRONT OF A MOVING BUS!

For goodness sake!

Quite apart from anything else, the Police didn't release the CCTV footage because they're not sure if she tried to trip him up.

They want to identify the man WHO PUSHED A WOMAN IN FRONT OF A MOVING BUS!!!

Justaboy · 08/08/2017 17:15

The video on the met police website is the best one and you can download it and go thru it frame by frame in VLC Media player.

It looks like it was a bit half and half there doesn't seem to be any rapid movement from either of them to avoid a collision

You can see the shadow of her arm outstanding then there dosent seem to be any shadows from his arms outstretched and it is still very difficult to ascertain that he put his arms out before he hit her. But as said there was no abrupt sideways movement from either of them to try to avoid each other.

Still a bloody oaf for not stopping !.

Fekko · 08/08/2017 17:15

The images are half decent and the video is time stamped to he won't be impossible to track down.

Justaboy · 08/08/2017 17:16

And why did the met leave it for a few months before appealing for the public s help was there more to this than met the eye?.

You're not wrong, Seeingadistance, but some people can have an argument on their own in an empty unfurnished room.

AdalindSchade · 08/08/2017 17:20

Look at the circled bit. It could look like her leg cocked at an improbable angle but it's her coat and his leg. The second picture shows both her legs in front of her

Was Shock at the fact that this happened so long ago as well. Why on earth didn't the police go straight after a man who pushes people in front of buses?!

I also wondered if the same would have happened if it had been a man in that exact time and place. Somehow I doubt it.

Firesuit · 08/08/2017 17:22

He moves towards her before he pushes her.

That was my first impression too, but on re-watching the video I think it may be an optical illusion caused by him turning his shoulders sideways as they are about to collide. (As if he's trying to slide past.)

I suppose it's possible that he wasn't looking far enough ahead to anticipate the collision and fended her off when he became aware at the last minute they were going to collide. The speed he was going would be enough to create the size of impact. But that's stretching to find an explanation, and leaves him still negligent. And even if that were his explanation, surely you'd stop if you've knocked someone over. So, on balance, he a psycho, I think.

(Also, I'm not sure that it's possible to not see someone directly in front of you, no matter how much you look at your feet when running.)

SheWhoLivesHere · 08/08/2017 17:22

I don't think the majority of people asking whether she kicked out at him are cictim blaming, they're just trying to make sense of a very scary situation. If his actions were a retaliation it's still disgusting but makes a bit more sense.

If it is a completely random and unprovoked attack, well that's the most terrifying thing. Don't trash people for trying to make sense out of something so scary.

TinyRick · 08/08/2017 17:23

The bus driver was a bloody hero in all of this.

MargotLovedTom1 · 08/08/2017 17:24

She absolutely does not try to trip him up. She has the temerity to be walking slightly closer to him than the previous male pedestrian, and for that she gets shoved aggressively out of the way. Fucking dick - I hope he gets caught.

Fekko · 08/08/2017 17:25

It must have been some force to topple her over though. London is full of shoulder bargling prats but I've never been pushed over (not even by idiots on bikes).

Firesuit · 08/08/2017 17:25

I've change my mind, at worse they would have brushed shoulders if he'd done nothing to react to her presence. If he had time to think to push her, he had time to move to his left and avoid a collision completely.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 08/08/2017 17:27

No man will push me into line....EVER!

There's plenty who will try and those who still believe women should walk 6 paces behind.... nah, not happening

Well said Firesuit

pigsDOfly · 08/08/2017 17:31

Didn't look to me as if they were actually that close to each other, rather he seemed to veer towards her in order to be close enough to put his arms out to shove her.

Can't see any sign of her legs being anywhere near him prior to the push.

Very odd that the police have waited this long to try to identify the man. If that bus driver hadn't acted so quickly and swerved to avoid her this could very well have been a murder.

Someone posted earlier about victim blaming on mn. Looks like there's a bit of it going on here.

TinyRick · 08/08/2017 17:32

Doesn't help this poor woman though, Mumisrunning

This is the reality for the majority of women an girls.

Autumnchill · 08/08/2017 17:32

My opinion for what it's worth is both of them thought the other would relent but they didn't so he at the last minute takes avoiding action, catches her with his shoulder and she falls.

What isn't so understandable is apparently she confronted him 15 minutes later and he wouldn't stop to discuss

pigsDOfly · 08/08/2017 17:33

x post with everyone.

AztecHero · 08/08/2017 17:33

The dailymail link does not really show the upper arms.

This link does, and shows the pull and shove motion much better.
