Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

To be fair pelorus I have twice tried to post slightly more conciliatory things but they haven't posted. Odd.

NoLoveofMine · 10/08/2017 12:44

The police released the video three months after the incident appealing for information. It's pretty clear they were satisfied of the malicious intent and had been attempting in vain to track down the perpetrator, hence the appeal. Many of the comments online (beyond this forum) have been abhorrent, blaming the woman, desperately taking screen shots at certain points to attempt to exonerate the man, comments such as "poor man" and so forth. In general I think this shows what women and girls are up against in terms of male violence - not only the constant risk of it but the excuses made and attempts to blame the victim even when there's footage of the incident and the police have released it to attempt to find a perpetrator months later. No wonder this happens in general with such incidents when so many do so even with footage available - pouring over the footage looking for any excuse to blame the woman is in my opinion symptomatic of endemic misogyny, doubting what happened even though the police are certain having been investigating for some time.

As I said earlier in the thread I also feel very sorry for the woman who was just walking to work, was attacked by a man completely unknown to her, could have been killed yet now has a plethora of comments across social media blaming her for an incident she was subjected to by an aggressive man.

No, Boney we would practice it in the Dojo, not on the street. Usually there would be some sort of falling out between immature males, as I said.

I'm not claiming to be better, It's just something I observed when training. The attitude that comes from some immature people when they can't separate confident behaviour from arrogant aggressive behaviour.

It happens a lot on the internet too, as you ably demonstrated.

24HourPartyPerson · 10/08/2017 13:58

Just on the news - 41 yo man arrested on suspicion of GBH.

OuaisMaisBon · 10/08/2017 14:07

Wow, 24HourPartyPerson, thank you for that. I'm still wondering why the Met police took so long to release the video, there must be some solid reason behind it, that I don't understand.

stillvicarinatutu · 10/08/2017 14:12

it will have just been last resort to release the footage - theyll have known it would cause a lot of attention - they maybe hoped he would come forward without doing this - it will not only affect him but any family he has etc. so it will have been a last resort to identify him.

squoosh · 10/08/2017 14:17

I hope he's shitting his pants in police custody.

squoosh · 10/08/2017 14:20

I'd love to hear what kind of guy he claims to be. Family man, wife, 2.4 kids, 4 bed semi detached in zone 3, accountant in the City. Hobbies; rugby, golf, and pushing women into oncoming traffic.

noeffingidea · 10/08/2017 14:25

Glad to hear an arrest has been made. Hope they throw the book at him (assuming they've got the right person of course). There is no doubt in my mind that he meant to cause the victim serious harm.

LineysRun · 10/08/2017 14:25

"A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm following police enquiries at an address in the Chelsea area on the morning of Thursday, August 10."

namechanger2735 · 10/08/2017 14:31

I watched it over and over and it wasn't until I saw a better quality version that she does appear to have tried to trip him

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 10/08/2017 14:34

name well you need to watch again or get glasses, Her leg very clearly goes out AFTER she has been pushed. Do you think you know better than the police that also watched this over and over? Hmm

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 10/08/2017 14:35

No she doesn't name any fool can see that he veers towards her and her foot shoots up into the air when she fallsZ And like I said earlier he'd have to have a supernatural reaction time to push her away even if she did it a split second before colliding with him.

MsHarry · 10/08/2017 14:37

NO TRIP!!!! SHE IS PUSHED OFF HER FEET. Watch his path, he runs straight then veers towards her as she walks straight ahead. Her leg comes up after he pushes her. Let's say she did try to trip him, his reaction is immediate , he pushes her into the road and carries on running? Surely he would stumble , fall and have a word.

Elendon · 10/08/2017 14:38

To echo others but this may be a new page. An arrest of a 41 year old man has been made in Chelsea.

Elendon · 10/08/2017 14:39

He has been arrested on the charge of grievous bodily harm.

Elendon · 10/08/2017 14:46

If someone attempted to trip you up you would go instinctively into avoidance action. There was no trip. He deliberately ran towards her and pushed her onto the road where there was oncoming traffic. The push was so violent, that despite her instincts to correct the fall, she had little control over the direction in which she was headed.

Once again, thank goodness for the bus driver. (Who would have witnessed the incident from the other side).

squoosh · 10/08/2017 14:47

I watched it over and over and it wasn't until I saw a better quality version that she does appear to have tried to trip him

Well you'd better phone the police and let them know, as they clearly see it differently.

FFS.

MarshaBrady · 10/08/2017 14:51

Good. Hope they don't go easy on him. Good there was the cctv and great he was identified.

Elendon · 10/08/2017 14:54

I hope he gets fair treatment. I would hate for him to have an excuse against the police.

annandale · 10/08/2017 14:55

If he'd had any sense he would have turned himself in. Or possibly not shoved a woman off a pavement.

squoosh · 10/08/2017 14:55

I doubt they're roughing him up. He was arrested at an address in Chelsea so he may well have his very expensive solicitor with him.

stillvicarinatutu · 10/08/2017 15:07

of course he will get fair treatment! the police wont hold a personal grudge - they are simply investigating an offence like a million others committed daily!

nina2b · 10/08/2017 15:11

God. Fair treatment? Yes, he will get "fair treatment". It is likely to be considerably better treatment than he meted out to the passerby.Hmm
