Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

Not trying to excuse him at all I think he may be incredibly mentally unwell or dangerous.

Dangerous he certainly is but "incredibly mentally unwell" is doubtful. Aggression of various forms targeted at women and girls in public isn't too rare.

I had something similar happen to me several years ago at a crossing on the Edgware Road in London. It was morning rush hour and we were all waiting for the lights to go red before crossing but before this happened, there was a slight gap in the traffic. I stayed where I was (at the front of the group) as I didn't think I had enough time to cross the road safely. The guy behind me had other ideas and pushed me straight in to the road, I fell on to my knees in the middle of a busy road. Luckily nothing hit me but I was so shocked and slightly injured! I jumped up and asked him why he'd done it and he mumbled something about me being slow and I should have gone to cross the road! I tore a strip off him believe me, it was insane for someone to do that. I'm always really wary now at busy crossing when people are behind me. The logic of some commuters in London always amazes me.

I've looked back through but I can't find it now. I might have imagined it.

TrinityTaylor · 09/08/2017 15:13

Hope he gets jail time the entitled cunt

VladmirsPoutine · 09/08/2017 15:20

I tore a strip off him believe me

What did you say?

I remember when I was in 6th form I was walking with 2 friends and a guy tried to ask for my number. I refused and started to walk away with my friends. A few minutes later a felt a punch on my cheek which had come from behind - I turned around and surely enough it was that guy. I just stood there and cried. I was 16. This was by Paddington station, there were loads of people around but no-one did anything and my friends had to hold me as I was so hysterical.

kateandme · 09/08/2017 15:22

I worry she oe he got in eachother way.was something said.he reacted.shoved.not to harm.and now he's in no end of trouble.

Sunflow · 09/08/2017 15:27

VladmirsPoutine

Expletives I wasn't even aware I knew! I was so cross, I thought I was going to kill him. In the end he said he was sorry but I nearly had a heart attack through rage. The majority of the people stood there did nothing too but a couple of them did help me out.

Pigface1 · 09/08/2017 15:37

Does anyone understand why this happened 3 months ago but is only being publicised now? Surely their chances of catching him are reduced now?

MagdalenLaundry · 09/08/2017 15:41

Kateandme
The poor misunderstood bloke. Hold his hand why don't you?
Would you be so forgiving if a woman had done this
How can you justify what he did. She could have easily been killed

TheEmmaDilemma · 09/08/2017 15:41

Pigface did you RTFT?

MsHarry · 09/08/2017 15:42

Her leg comes up after being pushed/as a result of being knocked off her feet! He actually veers towards her to push her.

NoLoveofMine · 09/08/2017 15:43

Justaboy that case is abhorrent, not only that such photographs of women and girls are so regularly taken and often uploaded online to widely viewed websites but also in the reaction and the abuse the victim received. Such rampant misogyny.

Pigface1 · 09/08/2017 15:43

theemma - no, i last posted around page 10 but it's page 21 now! Has that been explained?

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 09/08/2017 15:47

Do you think there's a chance he didn't see the bus coming?

Shock

WTF? I wonder about some people, I really do. What was going to be in the road other than vehicles?!

Why all the excuses, need for reasons as to why the poor lamb attacked her? What happened to good old fashioned common fucking sense? Man, assaults woman violently pushing her onto road in front of bus, could have been a car, a bike coming, anything but the point is he DID it at all and he DID do it, as can be seen on the CCTV footage.

TheEmmaDilemma · 09/08/2017 15:48

a) Time taken to retrieve all possible useful footage and review initially.
b) Forensic photography looking at the video
c) Resource for that
d) Could be more incident have happened prompting this.

user111111 · 09/08/2017 15:49

I've seen stuff like this first hand in London, worst was waiting on a packed platform at Old Street, a guy was slowly pushing in front of me to be at front of queue for next tube. I let it go as wasn't in the mood to argue. He then started pushing into woman next to me who was heavily pregnant. She confronted him and said 'sorry, I'm next in line, don't push in front of me' at which point he became aggressive and was physically barging her. I said to him 'what are you doing? You can see she's pregnant'. He looked me in the eye and said 'I don't give a shit if she's pregnant'. The woman could have nearly been pushed off the platform. I've never forgotten the rudeness, I'm sorry for Londoners, the majority are lovely, but there is rudeness and aggression that I've just never seen in other cities I've lived in. I can totally believe this guy and his lack of regard for others 'in his way'.

DontMentionTheWar · 09/08/2017 15:50

I once had an elderly man walk straight into me very hard. He was looking behind him instead of straight ahead and there was nowhere for me to move out of the way. He really hurt me. Instead of apologising he glared at me with such hatred I was quite unnerved. I've never forgotten it and wish I had been more assertive at the time but I young and I was also shocked and in some pain from the impact.

MsHarry · 09/08/2017 16:04

Do you think there's a chance he didn't see the bus coming? It's not that he meant to put her under a bus, it's the fact that he pushed her!!

HopefulHamster · 09/08/2017 16:11

Saw this in my local news today - this time the jogger attacked. A car knocked him into a field, then went back to try and hit him again!

Why isn't it called attempted murder?

This just reminded me of a time i was getting on the back of one of the old London buses just outside Angel Tube in Islington. There was some problem and not enough buses for everyone so it was a push and a squeeze to get on. A man actually punched me in the back as I boarded. I remember the shock of it and feeling too vulnerable to say anything. It was horrible as I assumed he was in the bus sitting somewhere behind me and I remember being scared to get off. When I think about moving back to London, it's something that really puts me off...

roselondoner · 09/08/2017 16:15

NoLoveOfMine yeah ingrained societal misogyny most definitely huge factor but total apparent lack of remorse could easily be sociopathic!

MsHarry · 09/08/2017 16:16

If the woman was being helped and comforted on the bridge 15 mins later when he ran back past,I wish everyone on the bus had got off and sat on him until police arrived.

NoLoveofMine · 09/08/2017 16:21

I think misogyny is more of a factor roselondoner, also shown by some instances recounted on this thread and ones I've heard of. Street harassment is also relevant in a sense, though different it's also targeted at women and girls and can turn aggressive very quickly.

MsHarry that would have been good (though in unpleasant circumstances of course).

Fluffypinkpyjamas · 09/08/2017 16:28

Yes harry I wonder why nobody at all did!

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said the bus stopped and passengers on board rushed to the victim’s aid.She was still recovering around 15 minutes later, when the same jogger returned across the bridge.“The victim tried to speak to him but he did not acknowledge her and carried on jogging,” a police spokesperson added

I did not realise he had returned to the scene. Just so he could revel in the misery he caused and get off on it which makes him even more dangerous and nasty.
