Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

Lol meanager aren't you funny! Hmm.

Eh? Confused

PelorusJack · 08/08/2017 22:04

If you use the Met link posted earlier you can do a frame by frame. Look at the frame with 07:41:19:30 at the bottom (where they show the clip slowed down). I really think it looks like she was falling to the side before her put his hands out. Maybe her barged into her and as she was falling he put his hands out.

However, as I said CLEARLY before, I'm sure the police can look at the video better than we can and they will also have the woman's account. She will have told them if she was shoved or 'just' accidentally bumped. Either is VERY bad but one obviously worse than the other.

annielouise · 08/08/2017 22:08

He veers into her. Look at the positioning of him beforehand - he was well in the shadow. She's walking in the shadow closer to the sunlight line. He veers in. She actually moves outwards slightly to give him space. It was undoubtedly deliberate. She does not kick at him. Her leg is caught by his and whipped upwards. He's a nasty shit.

I go walking a lot and joggers often think you need to jump out the way for them. I do a mix of moving and staying put, depending on how many coming towards me, space etc. One jogger said to me "err, jogging!" as if that's more important than walking and I need to jump out the way. If I'm not concentrating and in a daydream I don't move so quickly. Joggers the ones coming at you faster so need to be more aware.

Hope they catch him.

annielouise · 08/08/2017 22:14

The coward also speeds up after doing it from what I can see. Utter wanker.

DamnSummerCold · 08/08/2017 22:17

AskBasil a fun experiment is to not move an inch for men in your path. But be prepared to have injuries, they do not move at all and will happily bang into you

I do this at work; men will walk 3 a breast down the corridor and expect you to move(squash against wall) aside. I refuse to now; the look of pure confusion on their faces.

I will admit I'm not brave enough to do it out and about.

abigailgabble · 08/08/2017 22:21

"err, jogging!"

what an absolute wazzock Angry

Happytobefree17 · 08/08/2017 22:34

I wonder if this was a daily battle between them. I.e. Both took this route daily and often crossed paths. It would explain the active hostility from the jogger than if she was a perfect stranger. Not excusing it for one moment. But just like other horrified people, trying to find a reason for this horrific situation.

ClamBakeSnake · 08/08/2017 22:37

One jogger said to me "err, jogging!"

UGH.

Most runners are fine but people like that act as though they're splitting the motherfucking atom rather than just propelling their carcass along the bloody pavement.

Theresnonamesleft · 08/08/2017 22:38

The victim blaming is insane. The wanna be detectives trying to put the blame on her.
You don't even have to look at the videos. Look at the stills posted on this thread. Look at his feet, clearly turned in her direction. It was not an accident or a simple brush of the shoulder.

Longdistance · 08/08/2017 22:38

He's guilty. He just carries on jogging, doesn't help her. Hmmm, let me think why? Oh yes, cos he pushed her.

What an utter cunt! Angry

Happytobefree17 · 08/08/2017 22:39

Not that any reason would be good enough I must add. He is clearly unhinged at the very least given the evidence.

annielouise · 08/08/2017 22:40

Thanks Abigail and Clambake - she was most put out when I replied "err, walking!" with the same intonation. She stopped dead in front of me in expectations of me moving. The sense of entitlement of some people.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/08/2017 22:41

What an arse.

I've had joggers shout "move" at me. I swear my next set of dogs will be Rottweilers.

ClamBakeSnake · 08/08/2017 22:43

A chihuaua would be better Chardonnay. Bad tempered little ankle attackers.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 08/08/2017 22:45

A chihuahua and a Rottweiler then. Full set

HipsterHunter · 08/08/2017 22:56

Why should anyone step aside for a jogger? Genuine question.

Well I don't think anyone should step int othe road,, but if you are a couple walking and holding hands and blocking a narrow pavement it is polite to step into a single file to let someone thru either direction? Same for a gaggle of tourists standing around on the pavement - its polite to let people thru in both directions.

HipsterHunter · 08/08/2017 22:59

I've had joggers shout "move" at me. I swear my next set of dogs will be Rottweilers

Just so no need for that aggression!

On the London to Brighton bike ride there was a super congested bit so most people were going slower than they wanted to and some middle aged fat twunt in serious tried to squeeze past dangerously weaving into people and shouting "RIDER, coming through". I refused to move and was like "we're all coming through mate, its called a traffic jam"

abigailgabble · 08/08/2017 23:03

annielouise

brilliant! that's the kind of thing J would only think to do after they had ploughed me down and carried on their merry way Grin

Maremaremare · 08/08/2017 23:05

There are a lot of loose pavers on that putney bridge pavement which are a really trip hazard - I wonder if that had anything to do with it? clutches at straws

RolfNotRudolf · 08/08/2017 23:06

Perhaps it took the police 3 months to go public on this because they initially saw it as a non-crime and it has only been the woman's persistence in pursuing the matter that has forced them to obtain and/or publish the footage. Shock

burdog · 08/08/2017 23:08

The only reason I can think for him to come back is because he's a psychopath or really, really thick.

24HourPartyPerson · 08/08/2017 23:11

AskBasil a fun experiment is to not move an inch for men in your path. But be prepared to have injuries, they do not move at all and will happily bang into you
Also seen in driving cars where one has to pull in to pass. Can guarantee that the one that accelerates straight at you will be driven by a man.

As an aside, something not related but I think relevant when I was walking through town a couple of years ago, noticed an fragile looking old man walking towards me (age is relevant btw). I was close to shop windows on my other side. As he got close to me he suddenly "lost his balance" and fell into me - with both hands out to stop his fall which miraculously perfectly cupped both of my breasts as he fell into me. The reason I noticed him before he fell is because his eyes were firmly fixed on mine and trust me there was nothing fragile in that steely stare. I've felt so vulnerable since then and I really hope that this woman receives any help she needs to move on from this, I can only imagine how she must have felt once the shock kicked in.

Seeingadistance · 08/08/2017 23:14

Given how many assaults and other crimes must be captured on CCTV every day, I imagine that the Police have tried other ways of establishing who this guy is before making the footage public. I'd also hope, given how blatant this was, and how very nearly she was killed by being run over by a bus, that they have taken it seriously from the start.

Upthread, someone wondered if an additional reason for the release of the footage was that they know this guy has been doing this to other women, and now they're starting to come forward.

Hopefully, he's been arrested by now as I'd think that anyone who knows him would be able to identify him from that footage.

LineysRun · 08/08/2017 23:23

24Hours bloody hell that's crap.

Which just goes to show nasty young and middle aged cunts become older ones.

I fear that the Putney Bridge Jogger has done other stuff.

I also hope the bus driver's union is involved. This shit is traumatic.

Mrsmorton · 08/08/2017 23:24

maremaremare why the need to clutch at straws? Why the need to attempt to defend this man? Even if he tripped on a loose slab, he's still a turbocunt for not stopping to help the poor woman.

Why do you want him to not be at fault when he so clearly is, even if he's only at fault for not giving a shit. Fucks sake.
