Who pushed that woman over into the path of a bus.

What a complete and utter wanker - who the hell does that?

Thank goodness she was OK (physically at least- she'll probably be rather nervous about walking along the pavement now Sad

I was once knocked over by a runner going at full pelt. I was bloody furious and swore at him like a drunken navvy. But at least he stopped, got me to my feet, and apologised profusely. This guy wanted to do harm.

Fekko · 08/08/2017 21:28

I think we will have his identity by tomorrow. Anyone who lives, works or socialises with him will recognise him.

mogulfield · 08/08/2017 21:29

I'm a runner and I know it's MY responsibility to get out of pedestrians way. I go out of my way to avoid people, that guy is a dick.

SeekingSugar · 08/08/2017 21:31

Wow just WOW at the victim blaming on this thread. All those armchair detectives, do you really think that the police have not scrutinised the footage? Hilarious that some posters think they know more than the victim and police.

Fekko · 08/08/2017 21:32

I used to run around Regent's Park and spent most of the time on the road dodging hoards of tourists. Yes I used to get pretty hacked off (at their inability to step aside to let me pass) and probably grumbled but never felt the urge to shove anyone.

RockyBird · 08/08/2017 21:35

Why should anyone step aside for a jogger? Genuine question.

Redsippycup · 08/08/2017 21:36

If it was an accidental collision (which it blatantly wasn't, but if it was) then surely he would also have been affected? I mean, that was some serious force that lifted her off her feet and knocked her completely flat, but he didn't even break stride.

Imagine a pool table and the cue ball (jogger) hits another ball (woman) sideways. The cue ball doesn't carry on regardless, it moves in the opposite direction to the other ball.

He was clearly prepared for the collision and to keep on in the same line he must have been exerting force towards her (not just forward in his direction of travel) or the mutual force of the collision would have thrown him away from the road.

Beadieeye · 08/08/2017 21:37

Some people are trying to rationalise this because it's so disturbing. They don't want to believe the worst.
But even if this has the most unlikely or innocent of explanations, only a complete sociopath would just continue on as if he hadn't so much as swatted a fly.
Hope he's caught and don't see how he won't be, with that footage now public.

Fekko · 08/08/2017 21:39

If you are standing 4 abreast across a busy pavement then surely it's just manners to move in if anyone is trying to get past? I found it hard to get around the main ring with a pram too (just walking) due to groups standing on the pavements or dawdling along taking up the whole depth of the pavement.

Strawberrybubblebath · 08/08/2017 21:39

Fekko just wondering why you felt the tourists should step aside to get out if your way? Surely you should be the one to go round/get out of their way. Unless they were stood on an athletics/running track.

ClamBakeSnake · 08/08/2017 21:40

As a pedestrian I find groups of people who walk abreast of one another quite irritating too.

YellowLawn · 08/08/2017 21:40

I bet that violent man is furious at being called a jogger.

BoneyBackJefferson · 08/08/2017 21:41

PelorusJack

They use "knocked" because its neutral, shoved, pushed etc. would imply blame and possibly prevent any conviction.

Fekko · 08/08/2017 21:41

See above. Conversely why should anyone have to step into a busy road because others have decided to take up the whole pavement and refuse to step aside to let you pass?

nocoolnamesleft · 08/08/2017 21:46

Thanks for posting the Met police link, as it's much better resolution. She's walking in a straight line. He veers towards her. He turns/swivels towards her and shoves with both hands. Her legs then come up as she falls to the ground. No way she initiated the encounter.

AskBasil · 08/08/2017 21:46

Looks like women need to wear coats like this one

The number of men who walk into me is amazing. It's literally not safe to walk along the street if there are men there. They believe they have the right to push women out of the way if we don't cede the space to them. This one's just more extreme than the others. Hope he gets caught.

ScarletForYa · 08/08/2017 21:47

The people on the bus and the bus driver will have had quite a good view of it from the front.

AskBasil · 08/08/2017 21:49

Oh yes that's a point, there will be witnesses, if they are looking out of the window. The bus driver obviously was, s/he had amazing skillz, what a brilliant driver.

ScarletForYa · 08/08/2017 21:52

Yes, fantastic reaction time by the driver. I reckon that guy will be identified pretty quickly. Asshole.

toots111 · 08/08/2017 21:53

I was walking along the South Bank in London with the kids once and a male jogger shouted at me to move and then pushed me out of the way. I was so thoroughly shocked by it. It's as if he thought he had right of way because he was running and I was walking. Fortunately it's a pedestrianised area but I can well imagine it happening on actually streets too.

ClamBakeSnake · 08/08/2017 21:53

I can imagine people texting one another saying 'OMG that runner bloke looks like Stuart from the legal team'.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 08/08/2017 21:54

Isn't the general rule that the one going faster moves out the way for the one going slower?

Justaboy · 08/08/2017 21:55

If you look at the shadow line the man is some way to the left of that I'd say around 4 feet or 1200 mm when they pass, however she is on a path towards the shadow line and if you look at where he and the man passes and put the man on the shadow line then there still would have been room for avoidance so as she was veering left he was veering left too so he did change direction.

Even so any normal person would have stopped to help it wasn't if he'd be on a charge it "looked" as if it was two people collided with each other accidentally.

Don't see why its taken so long for old bill to make it public if he had a history of doing this surely other reports would have surfaced unless this might be the second or third time the ones previous being regarded as accidents but it now looks like deliberate actions. Even so why would he go back past the scene?. Unless he is mentally not all as he ought be.

However the article in Germany seems an order worse. I wonder if that was someway racially motivated they looked as if they didn't give a shit about that woman and from the looks of them they seemed to enjoy the harm they did. I believe one of them has been apprehended.

CherryChasingDotMuncher · 08/08/2017 21:56

AskBasil a fun experiment is to not move an inch for men in your path. But be prepared to have injuries, they do not move at all and will happily bang into you

AskBasil · 08/08/2017 21:59

Oh yes, I've tried that one Cherry, they really will barge into you.

Unless of course, you are holding your pointy umbrella at an angle which would hurt them.
