What's with all the negativity towards adult gamers?

Me and my DP are in our 30's and we both love gaming together. We only do it when our DD is in bed, but we spend quality time together doing something we both enjoy.

We both do otherstuff , for instance im a crafter and I knit and crochet.

I suffer with MH issue and struggle to go out with my agoraphobia and panic attacks so I only really socialise online. I don't see it being a bad thing as long as it is not hurting other people, or am I from a different planet?

Didn't someone start this thread yesterday and get loads of replies already??

Well it's ok when it's done they way you describe, just as a hobby that doesn't take over.

There are lots of posts on MN of people, mainly men, who sit gaming for hours ignoring kids, not doing their fair share. That's not on.

I know of several people who game for hours, while ignoring everything else that's going on a round them
