To bra or not to bra?

BeingMePls · 06/08/2017 11:37

That is the question?

Just had a little spat with DH about me not wearing a bra during weekends. Obvs wear one to work, but find them really uncomfortable and quite frankly don't want to wear one. I am of the larger boob variety.

I of course wear proper clothes 🙄 and I don't feel like I'm being indecent but he feels like I am.

Who's BU?

IDoDaChaCha · 06/08/2017 18:41

What's it to him? Not like you said you wear no clothes at weekends (during the weekly food shop Grin). As others have said your body your business. If your bras are uncomfortable they might not be the right size. I wore a 32DD for years and hated bras - then got properly measured and discovered I'm a 32F ha. Now bras (the right style for me) are comfortable. Bravissimo do good sizing fittings x

confuuuuused · 06/08/2017 18:44

I agree with your body your choice but check out boob or bust on fb, I'm a complete convert to their way to measure.
When I'm around people I wear stretchy croptops

PickAChew · 06/08/2017 18:48

I bet you're not 38D and that's why you find bras so uncomfortable.

iMatter · 06/08/2017 18:59

Typical Sun.

Shitty, badly written article with random pictures of women putting on bras whilst displaying bum cracks. Your mother would be proud of your journalistic skills... in

OhOfCourse · 06/08/2017 19:30

I shall get re-measured!

DoJo · 06/08/2017 20:05

(bad for large breasts as well not to be supported properly)

In what way?

GladAllOver · 07/08/2017 12:01

In what way?

I'd like to know that as well. Where is the clinical evidence?

LoniceraJaponica · 07/08/2017 12:08

Is there any evidence either way?

SayNoToCarrots · 07/08/2017 22:02

Yes. The evidence is that after not wearing bras for their entire lives, women of the past still had working mammaries.

Elendon · 08/08/2017 13:17

I get underboob sweat when I wear bras and I've been fitted by 'experts'.

I find when I don't wear bras I tend to stand taller, back straighter and this helps with my inner core muscles.

However, I do like to wear a vest. I'm a vest woman.

GreenTulips · 08/08/2017 13:34

Anti chaffing cream seems to work well

VestalVirgin · 08/08/2017 15:20

YANBU. Your "D"H can wear uncomfortable garments (I like the wired pouch for testicles someone suggested Grin) if he so chooses, but your body is yours do decide over.

You should try to find more comfortable bras for work - I don't think women should have to wear bras at work, but acknowledge that the problem is not so easily solved and you have to earn money, after all.

I'm glad my breasts are small enough so I get away with not wearing a bra in the eyes of even the most critical person on the planet (my mum). Wink

AccrualIntentions · 08/08/2017 15:23

I'm a 36F and they've never been exactly pert, I can't not wear one. I even wear a soft sleep bra under my pyjamas.

But if you're comfortable with how you look and feel without one go for it Smile

Ebony69 · 08/08/2017 19:11

To be fair, if I was out with my DH who refused to wear underpants/ boxers and it was obvious to all, I'd ask him to put on a pair.

UtterlyFcked · 08/08/2017 19:13

The only tit I can see in this scenario is him..

Bluntness100 · 08/08/2017 19:20

To be fair, this! If my husband said he didn't want to wear undercrackers at weekends, they were so uncomfortable and I could see cock and balls, I'd be damn well asking him to put a pair on. And I wouldn't be out with him until he did. His body his choice , sure, But my choice not to be out with him.

MotherofA · 08/08/2017 19:24

I always wear a bra , I hate them jiggling everywhere plus don't want droopys. I would never go out without one as I hate thinking people can see my nipples too . I don't find bras uncomfortable unless they don't fit right .

Bluebrollie · 08/08/2017 19:29

Blush Am I the only one who pretty much never wears a bra unless I'm wearing an extremely thin top on a breezy day? I fucking hate them and have never been able to find one that I feel comfortable in despite being professionally measured a number of times....

I just wear sports bras/crop top type things for a bit of support but even that is on a good day. Luckily my DP has no issue, he even embraces my bra free life! (I've got rather large knockers) but comfort is the important thing to me Smile do what you want OP.

Your boobs, you choose.

Abetes · 08/08/2017 19:29

I always wear a bra at home or out. I'm very small (32B) but my bras are so comfortable that I don't even notice that I've got them on. And, to be honest, it's more comfortable to wear one than not. But, it's entirely up to you and nothing to do with your dh what you do.

MotherofA · 08/08/2017 19:44

Bluntness 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 god that made me giggle ! Loving this thread !

SaucyJack · 08/08/2017 19:49

Like this Bluntness? To be fair.

Goldenphoenix · 08/08/2017 20:16

I wear a bra at all times even in bed! I find it very uncomfortable not wearing one, not to mention my clothes wouldn't look as nice. Horses for courses though, unfetter those norks if you find it more comfortable.

Governoress86 · 08/08/2017 20:58

I never wear a bra in the house, I find it more comfortable. I'm a b cup and I find bras uncomfortable and get under boob swear aswell. My DP loves it when I don't wear a bra in the house.

NotTheFordType · 08/08/2017 21:08

I have at various times in my life been a B cup right through to JJ. I am currently a D.

If I let my boobs hang free then I'm sure of a case of thrush in my... don't know what to call it. Basically the under-boob. I have experienced this many summers when I've not been wearing the correct size due to vanity or skintness.

I find sports bras the most comfortable, but underwired bras in the CORRECT size are the most flattering.

I totally sympathise with the whole "fuck this, I'm going bra-less" thing because I recall plenty of shopping trips which ended in tears of frustration due to my "abnormal" body. But if you can find a good bra fit, I promise it's so worth it. Even if you have to order about 20 different sized bra online and just try them on in the privacy of your own home, do it. you really do deserve a good fitting bra.

MotherofA · 08/08/2017 23:17

Saucy omg I'm scarred is that actually real ewwwww hahahaha
