Our former PM and his £25,000 shepherd hut in the age of austerity

Puggsville · 04/08/2017 21:07

He had the salmon faced cheek to introduce the Bedroom Tax and disability cuts. Then he wimps out of office and splashes out £25,000 (minus any discount he might have received for publicising it in the papers) for a shepherd's hut in which he can churn out his memoirs about how he imposed austerity on the rest of us.

Surely he has a spare room in his Chipping Norton mansion in which he could plonk away on his laptop.

Ahem babycham. I think the Blair's were pretty well off. I think Cameron may just have had better taste sense regarding women. Blair went to Fettes and I believe chose the labour party because he thought he would get to the top faster. A man of zero conviction. As Indeed is Cameron but at least Cameron didn't lead us to an illegal war and bankrupt the country and has better taste in women

SeaWitchly · 04/08/2017 22:26

fellow posh boy Corbyn

Where do you get that from? He might have been born into a wealthy family [though not on the level of DC] but he does not live a wealthy man's lifestyle...

Corbyn's House

Cameron's House/Cottage

Puggsville · 04/08/2017 22:26

Why would I be envious of that shepherd hut - it's got David Cameron in it!

OP posts:
Heratnumber7 · 04/08/2017 22:27

He is responsible for Brexit. I hate him

Surely the people who voted for it are responsible for Brexit. Not Cameron.

BubblesBuddy · 04/08/2017 22:28

Corbyn's house is worth a fortune in London! He could go and live in Cameron's Hut!

Valentine2 · 04/08/2017 22:29

I remember after the ref lots of people on mn saying they voted leave so they could fuck over Cameron and the elites. grin
Well done them. He looks very fucked over to me.

This x10.
roarity
You worked for VoteLeave so may be that's why you missed such a big disclaimer I put in my post about Blair. You lot have a high tendency to miss things that matter. Like economy, jobs, future of our young generation and even the WILL of our young generation who voted Remain overwhelmingly and will face the consequences for Brexit while a lot of the Leavers would not be around to even see that.

Valentine2 · 04/08/2017 22:32

Surely the people who voted for it are responsible for Brexit. Not Cameron.
Not that easy. He was the leader and tgat comes with a huge responsibility. That's how it works. He knew what he was asking for.
My local MP is such a blatant liar that I wonder how he lives with himself. Yet, he was voted in by Tory voting population of course

BabychamSocialist · 04/08/2017 22:32

OhTheRoses

His dad was a barrister and the illegitimate son of two actors. His dad was adopted into a working class family. It's hardly the same as your mum being the daughter of a Baron and living in a 200 year old country house owned by your family for years, is it? I don't like Blair but to suggest he was as privileged as Cameron is hilarious!

PrincessLeia80 · 04/08/2017 22:32

SeaWitchly those two houses are worth about the same!

PoppyPopcorn · 04/08/2017 22:34

Tony Blair was from a very affluent background - he was at Fettes College, FFS.

Puggsville · 04/08/2017 22:34

OhTheRoses - don't be so fucking misogynistic with your "better taste in women" rot. Cherie Blair was a very clever working class girl who became a QC through her own hard work. Devoted wife and mother too.

OP posts:
CockacidalManiac · 04/08/2017 22:34

Cockacid - don't be so ridiculous. "The cry of the privileged"?? Who do you think you are? Lenin?

You hardly have to be a Marxist to see privilege In society. Even a centre-left social democrat like me can hardly miss it.

LaurieFairyCake · 04/08/2017 22:34

Corbyns house is worth 600-700k and he bought it for about 50k

It's London property prices. Not him. I didn't buy a crappy flat for £32k in Clapham in 1996, it's now worth 650k.

Instead I bought a house outside London which went up to £325 (for the same price)

Literally ANYTHING Corbyn bought would be worth that now

OhTheRoses · 04/08/2017 22:36

I know daughter's of barons who are on the bones of their arse.

Your post lacks significant clarity by the way. Money and class don"t necessarily have an automatic synergy.

MargotLovedTom1 · 04/08/2017 22:37

I know Rhonda. It's just pretentious wank isn't it. The cleaning staff will ensure everywhere is immaculate but the soot stays for effect.

Valentine2 · 04/08/2017 22:37

For causing irreparable damage to the country.
Did you read my post and try to see why I wrote Alan Sugar in it?

The posters trying to call op envious etc wouldhardly recognise the difference between Trump's and Gates' wealth.

MargotLovedTom1 · 04/08/2017 22:38

I just liked calling them scuzzy shites Grin.

CoolCarrie · 04/08/2017 22:47

Cam is a cunt, and Hunt is a cunt too!

Eleventybillionfucks · 04/08/2017 22:50

Have you seen the actual state of their house in those pictures you'd think they could employ a cleaner to scrub the muck off the walls once in a while

misskelly · 04/08/2017 22:50

The bedroom tax is a good thing - it's the spare room subsidy

For who? Plunging thousands of tenants in to debt because they can't find a smaller property to move to? The elderly are exempt and not obligated to move to a smaller property to free up a family home, not that they will find a smaller property even if they wanted to because so many one beds that fit their needs are in short supply too. So, all your doing is taking money from people on very low incomes, genius plan.

And as for those complaining about another thread attacking Tories, so what? I'm sure they and there supporters don't give a damn. If you can agree with the destruction of a safety net and the welfare state that is doing series damage to lots of people I'm sure you don't care what anyone on a forum has got to say.

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 04/08/2017 22:50

Not a massive fan of cameron

But there isnt a picture of the sign

Just someone saying that he has one

Is that right

Rufustherenegadereindeer1 · 04/08/2017 22:55

So not jealous of that shed rorty

My friends got a great one that i am jealous of...would have got a similar one this year if ds1 wasnt going to uni

Puggsville · 04/08/2017 23:04

Rufus - the sign is mentioned in a puff piece that Harpers Bazaar were invited to write in order to publicise SamCam's fashion business. Apparently, it's propped up by the sink in their "gloriously untidy" kitchen.

Is gloriously untidy journo-speak for scuzzie shites?

Telling me to fuck off won't change the fact that there is no such thing as 'bedroom tax'.

So, in keeping with the spirit of your own post, fuck off yourself. And when you get there fuck off some more.

splatController · 05/08/2017 02:24

So, people can't spend their money? If the wealthy simply kept it in the bank, the economy would slow down.

Complaining about this is nothing more than jealousy. Grow up OP.
