To think most of us don't follow our own advice?

I did say most, though accept it may just be me!

I see lots of advice given on here of what people would do in a certain situation. e.g. a parking situation, a holiday problem, dealing with relatives etc.

Lots of great advice given and I have often thought 'Well I'd just tell them to piss off', but, in reality, I really wouldn't! I hate confrontation and have to be pushed to my very limit before I would.

I've never told anyone to fuck off to the far side of fuck. I've never left my family on holiday because of a problem and gone home (even though I've felt like it) etc etc.

So while I'm happy to tell someone else to man/woman up and deal with a situation head on, I'm really shit at doing that very thing myself. Is it just me?

I try only to give realistic advice. I'd hope I received it too!

YANBU - a lot of the advice on here is ridiculous. I can't even imagine how some of the conversations would go.

It's quite funny when the OP starts to (reasonably) protest some of the awful 'tell 'em to fuck off/call 101/no is a complete sentence' advice and then gets a barrage of 'are you always so passive?' or 'i can't believe there are women out there who still put up with this shit' or 'you are failing your child'

Not if it's hyperbole! Clearly, "I burn the house down when there's a spider" isn't real advice. But mainly I'd a fairly assertive person who offers vaguely followable (not a real word) advice. I think.

Because it's much easier to give advice as an outsider.
