Yes I know it's only July. But all the popular Christmas events have now released tickets so I need to start thinking about this.

There are so many lovely Christmas events my husband and I would love to do with dd but so many start at £50 and some of these only last an hour!

I've done a budget and the total of all these events is alot, probably more than we would spend on presents.

What's your budget on christmas activites/experiences? Do you spend more on presents than Santa events etc?

I meant August not July!

This year I'm spending more on events than presents because I've booked 3 expensive events for 4 people. Now the DC are old enough to appreciate shows and trips I'll probably do this most years, I think it makes the season feel special. They don't need many presents, they usually only play with the things they actually asked for!

Definitely. We always go to the panto which is expensive and usually around £120 for us all. Ice skating is about £40. We have a family trip to the cinema and meal on Christmas Eve, £100 ish. And we always go to the local Christmas market and buy a few bits and have a meal out so that's probably near £100. School christmas fair £20.

Budget for presents is around £100 per dc. Dh and I probably a tenner each (a book and a selection box!).
