Late 90's, early 2000s.

British band (from the south) Punk/industrial/rock.

I am pretty sure the song title is 'Generation X'. Lyrics include 'Generation's grown up'

Have googled so much over the years. Only comes up with the old band Generation X.

If someone could find it for me I would be forever grateful.

Challenge accepted?

Ooh now that doesn't sound familiar, I assumed it would

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2017 22:56

But that video looks very familiar. I will look in the morning thank you so much

FrankiesKnuckle · 29/07/2017 22:56

I need to know outcome now!! Grin

ThanksForAllTheFish · 29/07/2017 22:59

shirleythefamilyguy your not thinking of the Clark's magic steps advert by any chance? (rather than a music video)

StealthPolarBear · 29/07/2017 22:59

I have watched about two second and that is it
Thank you so much. The first thread I started about this must have been two or three years ago. You have no idea how frustrating this has been

FrankiesKnuckle · 29/07/2017 23:02

Ha! Brilliant! So me being musically stuck in the 90s has its bonus points 😎
Gosh I watched too many hours of endless music videos 25 years ago!
Sleep well.

shirleythefamilyguy · 29/07/2017 23:02

Thanks do you know, that's funny - while I was posting I was thinking it sounded like that ad! But I'm sure this was a music vid as I'm fairly sure I remember watching it on the screen in Our Price, and I definitely remember music being part of it.

I had those shoes though. Cringe.

Trickycat · 29/07/2017 23:05

Kali - yes, I think it was Lloyd. Amazing! Thank you.

Kibobear · 29/07/2017 23:12

@Flisspaps was it imagination movers? (For your nick jr program)

Kaliwhite · 29/07/2017 23:15

Tricky - you're welcome! Glad to help!

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 29/07/2017 23:15

TinyRick could it be by One Minute Silence? They fit the description but I can't remember a song with those lyrics. Worth a look though.

KeepServingTheDrinks · 29/07/2017 23:20

Shirley, You're not talking about Take on Me by Aha are you?

Sorry I've got nothing to offer the rest of you.

livvymc · 29/07/2017 23:27

fliss is yours the wiggles?

SirVixofVixHall · 29/07/2017 23:44

Stealth, which one of Frankie's suggestions was it? So glad you got your answer!

MamehaSan · 30/07/2017 05:09

Oooh ooooh oooh, can I add another challenge?

Woman singer, maybe from the '60s / '70s, motown sort of vibe, chorus lyrics sonething about "I remember" (or maybe "don't remember"?), on a complation cd with a Tom Jones track, pretty well known as when I heard it I recognised it (but can't remeber it now!)

It was the track that was being played in theatre when DS2 was being extracted (CS) so details are hazy, but it's been bugging me for ages. Any suggestions gratefully received!

manglethedangle · 30/07/2017 05:24

icing was yours Stacy's mom? Bit older than 2009 though.

StealthPolarBear · 30/07/2017 07:46

Sir vix it is frances rufele

AristotlesTrousers · 30/07/2017 07:58

@MrsOverTheRoad was your song 'Tarzan Boy'?

StealthPolarBear · 30/07/2017 08:16

That brought back so many memories! And she's very proud of those boots and knickers isn't she?

Flisspaps · 30/07/2017 08:24

@FayKnights No it's neither of those - this was 4 middle aged blokes (I think all British) wearing Sgt Pepper style suits. They were on Nick Jr (DH says CBeebies but I think he's wrong)

And no, I'm not thinking of The Beatles Grin

Flisspaps · 30/07/2017 08:28

@Kibobear @livvymc no, not those :(

4 blokes
Middle aged
British
Wearing Sgt Pepper style suits

And they're not The Beatles Grin

PrincipalCelestia · 30/07/2017 08:46

Late 90s/early 00s obscure industrial/rock/punk? That is an name this song calling for my DP's assistance!

He's suggested;
Deathstars - synthetic generation
Kill to this - generation speech

And he's also suggested red not green a more obscure band that would be v hard to track down...

FrankiesKnuckle · 30/07/2017 09:08

Mamehasan

This?

MamehaSan · 30/07/2017 09:26

Frankies, nope, sorry! It seemed older than that one. Thanks anyway!

IcingSausage · 30/07/2017 10:04

No, not Stacey's Mom mangle but I've had a pm and the mystery has been solved! (Midnight Youth, 'All on our Own' if anyone's interested!)
