To ask if these garden waterslides for kids are fun or just a dangerous nuisance?

I know my kids would love it and am currently struggling to find suitable gifts for a birthday. Is it a good idea or will it bring on a shouting match?

My DD loves them, granted I don't have one but two neighbours do and there's never been a shouting match, just lots of screaming and laughing to be honest

Can you tell me what you mean by a garden water slide?
Do you mean one of these slip and slides?

If so, they are great fun, I used to have one as a kid but it does hurt a bit as you're almost jumping onto hard ground and if there's not enough water at one point then your skin almost burns as it rubs. But I think the fun outweighed the pain 😂

They are brilliant. Especially at the bottom of a real slide with lots of shower gel.

ferriswheel · 29/07/2017 11:17

Yes, that's exactly what I mean. And, heaps cheaper than the one I just saw. Am going to get it right now!

We used to have one when the kids were younger and they loved it (as did their footy teams and other friends!). Go for it!

My kids stopped asking for a slide after playing them this video...

user1501322303 · 29/07/2017 11:59

They absolutely love it!

I had one of them as a kid.

I still have the scars and no feeling in my right knee to prove it!

PoptartPoptart · 29/07/2017 12:57

My DH cracked his ribs on one of these. You kinda run up and fling yourself onto it at speed, but hitting the hard ground can really hurt!

kesstrel · 29/07/2017 13:49

They're brilliant. We added to ours by cutting the garden hose and putting a 3 way connector in, so we had one of those back-and-forth sprinklers going over it halfway along the slide's run, as well as the end of the hose at the top of the slide.
