We have come away for a week, I finished for summer holidays this time last week (teacher) and after running in adrenaline for the last half term, I've come down with a cold and shocking sore throat Sad

My throat is the worst but definitely not infected - otherwise just have general cold symptoms.

It's been quite a stressful year and we have been looking forward to coming away for a break with 3 year old DS so I feel irrationally pissed off that I feel so crap.

I have lots of cold remedies to dose up on and gin Gin of all else fails Grin

I'll put a brave face on for DH and DS and ensure we still get out and do stuff. I know we are very lucky to be able to go away but I still feel miffed Sad

I managed not to end up in hospital this year during my holiday. My children were congratulatory.

It's rotten. Hope you feel better soon.

That's shit. I recommend approaching the holiday mildly drunk and tanked up on paracetamol at all times. DH can drive you and DC to see nice sights pubs

I managed to get a chest infection on honeymoon.. in Orlando. we went to the dr and would have had to pay upfront for the drugs and then claim it back from our insurance company which we just couldn't afford (thank god for the NHS)

I ended up sitting in the bathroom with the shower on to make it steamy every night. It was dreadful but I didn't want to ruin our honeymoon and still went on all the rides! It worked as a kind of chest physio and the amount of crap that came up after going on a rollercoaster really worried me.

Got home and was admitted to hospital with pneumonia.. it was a good effort!
