Well I'm now waiting to hear about any complaints to the council & the outcome of that.

Oh & if/when Op gets bollards!

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 28/07/2017 09:41

Amazing that after all that, CFN's parting shot is "my clients are still going to park on your drive for drop offs" !!

Leeds2 · 28/07/2017 09:44

I bet the clients park across the bottom of *OP's" drive from now on, so that she can't get on to her own drive.

acatcalledjohn · 28/07/2017 09:55

But then they'd block the road, which would warrant a police visit.

TeamEponine · 28/07/2017 10:00

Does CFN use social media for their business?

I'd let them know that if another car appears on your driveway you will be letting them know repeatedly through all their social media channels.

Then if a car appears, post on their social media every five minutes until it is gone...

Jedimum1 · 28/07/2017 10:32

Well done, OP, on how you've handles the whole thing. Well done on your neighbors for complaining to the council together.

What a coincidence, the tyre thieves. Lol. But it could also has been someone not understanding how brakes work, thinking that it's like with bikes (break on tyre), trying to get the wheels out to move it down the road, realising it wouldn't work, then keeping the tyres safe somewhere until later, as that someone had no time to put them back on. You know, this could be a perfectly innocent explanation too as opposed...

What a load of BS the flat battery is. If CFN could drive employee home, he could also jump start the car.

I hope you are seriously considering getting the bollards or at least some chain and padlock to put across the drive entry. It's completely bonkers that CFN is still insisting that he'll direct customers to your drive to drop off. This won't change unless you make arrangements to physically stop them from doing it. They will use it regularly if you are not home (as a minimum, given the level of cheekiness), which means you will encounter this problem if you come back earlier from work or holidays Some people don't understand that drives are private property and that we pay extra on a house for that feature. They are not extensions of the road!

1sttime84 · 28/07/2017 10:33

OP - if CFN's clients block your drive way and you have a dropped kerb call the council who should send a traffic warden to give them a ticket.

Jedimum1 · 28/07/2017 10:34

Although I'd like to spam CFN on social media, OP is his neighbour. I understand she doesn't give details, as anyone could guess her address from the CFN's page or business details.

Jedimum1 · 28/07/2017 10:37

1sttime as I understand it, if the cars were parked on the road blocking OP's driveway and dropped kerb, then yes. It's a public road and it's blocking access to private property (and in this case, it would be blocking access to rest of road too).
As the car was parked in her driveway, then no. It's private property. Not blocking a public road. They wouldn't do anything officially

1sttime84 · 28/07/2017 10:43

Jedimum I meant for the future as if OP installs a chain/bollards then they won't be able to park on her drive but it has been suggested that clients may block her driveway.

Jedimum1 · 28/07/2017 11:01

Oh I see, yes, then she will be able to get the police to remove any cars. Still a win from current situation!

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 28/07/2017 11:10

FGS, when the OP confirmed with CFN and CFNE that the car would then be moved, it's pretty obvious what happened with the tyres (and the fact the car never had a flat battery and was just an excuse by CFN) and for obvious reasons, the OP isn't going to explicitly state the obvious.

MissDuke · 28/07/2017 11:30

OP fingers crossed that this is the end of it!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/07/2017 15:20

And God Bless Us, everyone!

AlphaBites · 28/07/2017 15:35

CFN is hellbent on revenge. With the antics of yesterday, we have not helped ourselves. CFN has parked over our drive at the back, blocking it about 1/4 of the way across.

😡

We aren't challenging this as I know it I'll escalate. Council and police have been called, police won't do anything and council have said to call again in 2 hours if it hasn't moved. FFS.

OP posts:
Morphene · 28/07/2017 15:37

oh dear....

Hissy · 28/07/2017 15:39

It's OK to escalate it.

go in there and ask them AGAIN to move the car

What IS this prick's problem?

Lweji · 28/07/2017 15:39

It looks you'll need bollards for both drives.

Bid your time.

And tow the car if they leave it there over the weekend.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 28/07/2017 15:43

Thinking caps on again everyone.

We need a LEGAL and effective way of getting back at them.

I'm still in favour of vaseline on the door handles, piper up the exhaust pipe, large notice stuck onto the car window with washable glue etc.

Though I can understand if Alpha prefers to let this take its natural course.

Might I suggest a dawn raid on CFN's home and superglue in the door lock?

MiddleClassProblem · 28/07/2017 15:43

What a twat! Hope he is still parked there so the council can to let him. Take photos. Keep all evidence logged as you may need it some day.

Articu · 28/07/2017 15:46

CFN is hellbent on revenge

I'm afraid I'm not surprised either. Much as removing the wheels was just deserved (and amusing). It was very confrontational and extreme. I'd be worried about getting a bill for damages to the car.

DartmoorDoughnut · 28/07/2017 15:49

What a twat! I wouldn't want them anywhere near my dogs

MaxPepsi · 28/07/2017 15:51

Are the rest of your neighbours on board with you?
Can you work in tag teams? Repeatedly put flyers on the cars that do not belong?
Is there a local community FB page you can comment on?
Have you got any friends in the emergency services fire service who can arrange to pay a non emergency calk to neighbours? They could then complain to the council about the amount of non resident parking?
Tip off the local parking warden??

Lweji · 28/07/2017 16:03

Actually, you should report all these actions. I'm sure eventually he'd get an ASBO or something.

IgglesGotANewBag · 28/07/2017 16:04

What an arsehole CFN is. Is she partway over a dropped kerb?
