AIBU to want a fridge freezer with the fridge on the left?

I'm trying to buy an American style fridge freezer. But I want the fridge on the left and they are all on the right.

I'm assuming it's a right handed thing but actually if you open the door with your left then the right is free to get food out so surely it makes more sense my way?

I can't believe they all only come one way round!

You can change the direction the door opens can't you?

In any case surely whichever way it is you'll be using your left hand to grab the food?
Or do you not care if you use your left hand in the freezer?

Beko do one with the fridge at the left, it's a big black one with temp gauges and stuff on it. My SIL has one.

You are definitely able to on mine but I'm not sure if that's a universal thing.

You'd be much better off with fridge at top with double doors and freezer drawer underneath

I had a side by side like you're looking at, and could never bloody find anything in it. Actually had to kneel down to see into the back of the lower part of the fridge ffs

Chickadee is the size split the same with those?

Cocklodger I want it that way round due to the design of the kitchen. I'm ambidextrous so otherwise I wouldn't care.

my old samsung was freezer on the LHS, but not an equal split and the ice maker took up a fair amount of room!

OP I think they are pretty equal, yes. You have to stack the freezer more carefully when it's a drawer I find. But the fridge is a huge improvement.

The one thing I read that put me off a standard American style fridge freezer was that often the freezer side is too slim to fit in big frozen pizzas!

So we bought one of the wide ones with the freezer at the bottom like Chickadee is saying.

I prefer the wide ones with fridge on top and freezer drawers on the bottom.

I would want the same.
