AIBU to feel a little violated

I took DD (6) and her friend out for the afternoon. By the time I was dropping off Dd's friend I desperately needed to use the loo, I sometimes have trouble holding it in if I don't go.

When I first parked I thought I'd drop friend off and rush back to car and go as a result I parked in front of someone's drive, be about a minute.

However, when I was trying to get car seat out I figured out that I'd need to get to a toilet fast. So I got DD out too and I went and used the loo.

Whilst I was in the loo, Dd started having some cake. I don't think we were too long as I was rushing her out of the house.

When I got to the car, a man was cross, understandably, as he'd been trying to get out of his drive. I apologies profusely and said I was sorry - I shouldn't have blocked him in. As I was getting into the car he handed me my work pass that was in the car - so he'd opened the door, I forgot to lock it, and started rooting around. I was really upset that he'd gone into my car.

Aibu for being upset, I know I shouldn't have blocked him in though.

You knew what you were doing was wrong but you decided the rules don't apply to you and did it anyway.

Then you expect sympathy from us?

Do the right thing next time and you'll get sympathy.

MyPatronusIsAUnicorn · 23/07/2017 20:59

"Some people on MN are perfect and never do anything wrong by the sounds of it!"

And some people will never admit when they are wrong and are just infuriating because they think they are always right when they really aren't. Swings and roundabouts really isn't it.

SeekingSugar · 23/07/2017 21:00

I don't think it's about being perfect OP, but when you're in the wrong you have to suck it up. You say you admit you were in the wrong, then seek to mitigate your wrongdoing with but but but
That's called being irresponsible.

tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:01

I shouldn't have parked, blocking the car in - I won't do it again and he had every right to be angry with me.

I actually suffer from Bowel incontinence which is awful when you can't get to the loo quick enough.

I'm not entitled and won't be parking again like that.

OP posts:
PovertyPain · 23/07/2017 21:05

I'm far from perfect, but you seem to think that only perfect people have a right to give an opinion, after you asked for it. That's a great way to look at life, then you don't have to admit responsibility for any wrong doing. 😒 Do you often feel that everyone else is picking on you when you mess up, op?

tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:05

I've not said once that I was right to park and block his drive. I'm not making excuses I admit I was in the wrong.

Next time, if I'm in a similar position I'll and find a loo where I'm ok to park.

tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:09

Poverty - where have I not admitted any wrong doing? I've said a number of times I was in the wrong.

VeryButchyRestingFace · 23/07/2017 21:11

OP was in the wrong, but I do have some sympathy. Flowers

In a situation where you think you're about to lose control of your bowels in public, I can easily see panic setting in and parking the car in the first place you find.

tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:16

Thanks **Very totally accept I was wrong but it's so awful when I need to get to the loo.

I've had a couple of accidents in the car, in the past and have found it humiliating and awful - as a grown woman who can't control her bowels.

Serialweightwatcher · 23/07/2017 21:18

I expect he was trying to find out if car was abandoned/stolen or whatever ... as regards the having been caught short on occasions, is it worth wearing pads maybe?

BIWI · 23/07/2017 21:19

Well why did you post in AIBU then?!

You were clearly being unreasonable, and you've admitted it - what did you want anyone to say?!

NotLachsAgainMother · 23/07/2017 21:21

Bear in mind that he had absolutely no idea how long you would be. You might have been gone for hours. So I don't think he can be blamed.

VeryButchyRestingFace · 23/07/2017 21:27

Gosh, you're a hard lot tonight! 😬 Grin

OP, I'd recommend hiding this thread now. No harm done, and you've admitted you were wrong, but some folks won't be happy until you're roasting yourself over a spit.

It is AIBU, after all. Grin

BusterGonad · 23/07/2017 21:27

Op I feel for you, you were desperate and couldn't bear the thought of having an accident, I can see why you did it, did you explain to the man why you parked in front of his drive? I'm sure he would've understood if you had said why, he shouldn't have looked in your car, but I guess he was angry and agitated.
I think you were both in the wrong, but given your circumstances I don't blame you for don't by it.

BusterGonad · 23/07/2017 21:28

Doing NOT don't!

DoublyTroubly · 23/07/2017 21:30

I know a couple of other posters said this but you don't seem to have answered. Are you sure you didn't drop your pass on the pavement / road? Seems a lot more likely than him rooting through your car

tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:33

I'm currently roasting myself over a spit for my wrong doing. I'll not let people say I can't take my punishment! Wink

OP posts:
tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:35

I'm sure my pass was in the car, in like a section to put coins, other rubbish in. I hadn't been wearing my pass today.

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 23/07/2017 21:35

Tatty I have pooed myself before, tbh roasting myself over a spit would be a walk in the park compared to that!

tattyteddy · 23/07/2017 21:38

Buster - it's awful, I can't think of anything but trying not to have an accident and a toilet.

OP posts:
BusterGonad · 23/07/2017 21:39

I live by the motto never trust a fart. 😂

PovertyPain · 23/07/2017 21:40

OP, you asked if ywu, then drop in your sarcastic comment about other posters being perfect, then get arsey when called out on it. That's what has pissed me and other posters off. I assume you were hoping for support and not for people to side with the householder? Have you missed out on the other parking threads. P.s. Where's the diagram? Naughty op. 😁

KimmySchmidt1 · 23/07/2017 21:46

It's why people lock their cars and dont park on other people's drives.

BusterGonad · 23/07/2017 21:48

If someone parked in front of my drive for 5 minutes while they took a shit to save themselves from pooing themselves then I think IWBU for getting a rat up my ass about it.
Honestly what's happened to human kindness?
