The hospital told me the true figure is more like 15% of women who either can't or need serious intervention to establish bf with their first baby.

Yes! The 2-3% figure trotted out usually is for 'unable to make any milk at all' - the figure for those who either can't for other reasons or need serious intervention is much higher. I was one of the latter (luckily was sorted but I'm aware that was luck and nothing I really did per se.)

The sticker is hugely judgemental. Horrible.

JustDanceAddict · 23/07/2017 21:28

Pmsl! Coming to think of it I had a daft sticker on my car when mine were little, but it came with a toy (nothing to do with feeding), and wouldn't have been offensive to anyone.

RestlessTraveller · 23/07/2017 21:32

Good grief, all 'baby on board' type things give me the rage, but his has left me apoplectic!

KimchiLaLa · 23/07/2017 21:54

FFS, what a little shite of a mother. No one cares!

raviolidreaming · 23/07/2017 21:58

I wasn't going to comment, but if it's been sent the the people behind this sanctimonious smugathon are being sent a link to this thread then I will add that this sticker would have stopped me seeking support from them, for fear of being intimidated / put under a lot of pressure / condescended.

raviolidreaming · 23/07/2017 22:00

Clearly I shouldn't have commented as I cannot construct a sentence!

Increasinglymiddleaged · 23/07/2017 22:18

quinoa eating child

Then they'd just be lying whereas with this breastfeeding is totally normal. Quinoa is just awful, really don't get it 😂

Meh whatever lights your candle I reckon. Wouldn't put it in my car but hey ho. ...

LinoleumBlownapart · 23/07/2017 23:30

Quinoa eating isn't crunchy enough as it's exploiting developing world resources! The next step is

And I sit writing as I breastfeed my son!

NotForSale · 24/07/2017 17:45

I like it. I'll be friends with her :)

toomuchtooold · 24/07/2017 18:05

It reminds me of a high vis vest I saw someone wearing on a bike in London that said "one less car". Yeah, I thought, and one more smug wanker...

KimmySchmidt1 · 24/07/2017 18:08

is it supposed to make people more or less likely to hit the back of them?

BabychamSocialist · 24/07/2017 18:18

CuppaSarah

Good luck to them - I haven't been able to find them myself for about 10 years!

SherbrookeFosterer · 24/07/2017 18:21

YANBU - it is wrong to politicise breastfeeding.

Probably the type who wants her 20 minutes of fame in the Daily Mail!

whatkatiedidnext31 · 24/07/2017 18:30

That seriously made me roll my eyes...to the back of my bloody head! 🙈

BigRedMama · 24/07/2017 18:58

Fuck no. What a cringey, cunty sticker to put on your car, or anywhere. I breasfed my daughter but the whole world doesn't need or want to know. I could not be friends witj a person who owns this.

sleeponeday · 24/07/2017 19:04

Oh, it can be even worse. This ranks top on my Smugometer. I just....

sleeponeday · 24/07/2017 19:05

The google image search indicates there are t shirts and stickers with this little saying, too.

RideOn · 24/07/2017 19:07

Is that sticker incase she's in a car accident and her boobs aren't in the car, the emergency services know to look for them? ha ha

Only1scoop · 24/07/2017 19:11

Sleep that is seriously hideous

clarkl2 · 24/07/2017 19:23

Urgh another breast warrior!

Myshitdontstink · 24/07/2017 19:32

WTAF??? #Smunt!

newnamenewnamenewname · 24/07/2017 19:34

sleeponeday That is actually so bad it is almost good! Grin

If I didn't know she is planning to use disposable nappies, I would buy one for my pregnant friend and embroider "full of shit" on the other side

CarefullyAirbrushedPotato · 24/07/2017 19:38

Yeah, no point in raising awareness or anything like that. Not like we have the lowest breastfeeding rate in the world

Travellingmamma · 24/07/2017 19:42

My kids are a bit older now, but I was previously a breastfeeding, baby led weaning, baby wearing earth mummy, and I'm now a breastfeeding peer supporter, and I think this is a bit twattish! There are a few who seem to think they are superior, or at least come across that way, and it does nothing to normalise breastfeeding and makes people's hackles rise and use words like "breastapo". Just choose how you want to feed your baby and get on with it!
