So they're trying to construct a narrative that reince is a leaker and so needs to be binned but the stellar strategy has itself been leaked and also spectacularly incompetently handled (see moochs tweets last night about his financial disclosures).

If it's the same Joe Paterno, from Wikipedia:

Joseph Vincent Paterno (/pəˈtɜːrnoʊ/; December 21, 1926 – January 22, 2012), sometimes referred to as JoePa, was an American college football player, and later athletic director and coach. He was the head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions from 1966 to 2011. With 409 victories, Paterno is the most victorious coach in NCAA FBS history. His career ended with his dismissal from the team in November 2011 as a result of the Penn State child sex abuse scandal.

So, following the Penn State child abuse, Paterno was one of the senior Penn State officials who turned a blind eye to the ongoing abuse by a colleague for 14 years:

The Board of Trustees commissioned an independent investigation by former FBI director Louis Freeh and his law firm. The Freeh Report stated that Spanier and Paterno, along with Curley and school vice president Gary Schultz, had known about allegations of child abuse on Sandusky's part as early as 1998, and were complicit in failing to disclose them. In so doing, Freeh stated that the most senior leaders at Penn State showed a "total disregard for the safety and welfare of Sandusky's child victims" for 14 years and "empowered" Jerry Sandusky to continue his abuse.

Yeah, definitely a weird role model for the Mooch to reference in an interview.

Thanks for the O'Donnell clip, set. Very powerful and it could have been a Sam Seaborn speech - the words, the rhythm was pure West Wing. It almost sounds too pure for today's jangly, disconnected politics.
