Do you sit, hover or play it by ear? Grin

Hover, always. And I do not pee on the seat.

Sallystyle · 23/07/2017 10:56

Hoverers are the reason toilets can be grim just sit down!

No hoverers who are not skilled in the art of hovering are the reason why toilets can be grim. It's easy to do it and not piss on the seat.

VladmirsPoutine · 23/07/2017 10:57

Hover. Sitting is just grim.

LoniceraJaponica · 23/07/2017 10:59

CanIHaveChocolatePlease I sit on loo seats, and touch door handles, handle money etc, and I am healthy and rarely ill.

"I am astounded that people sit on public toilets."

Really Ankleswingers? Hmm. Do you have daughters? will you teach them to hover? How do you get a small girl to have a wee and not sit on a loo seat?

Batfurger is correct. Urine is sterile. Loo door handles have more germs than loo seats.

Even medical professionals think hovering is bad for you.

There are some seriously bonkers people here. And I clearly have to much time on my hands Grin

Sallystyle · 23/07/2017 11:02

hover at home mostly cos i can't be bothered to sit down not particularly for hygeine reasons

I hover a lot at home too. I don't care about the hygiene, I just can't be arsed to sit down and I'm a good squatter ;) I have no issues with my bladder and only ever get cystitis when pregnant.

I am no germaphobe. I worked in a hospital and cleaned up various bodily fluids and it never bothered me. I am often too lazy to sit down and stand back up again though. And I repeat.. I do not pee on the seat, ever.

LoniceraJaponica · 23/07/2017 11:05

I don't understand the CBA to sit down comment. Surely it is more effort to hover?

You must all have magnificent thigh muscles though Grin

Sallystyle · 23/07/2017 11:07

Batfurger is correct. Urine is sterile.

No it bloody isn't!

I don't fear urine at all but it isn't sterile.

Sallystyle · 23/07/2017 11:09

It's no effort to hover at all. It probably is no more effort to sit down but I guess it's just a habit I got into somehow and it had nothing to do with germs.

My thighs are pretty good Grin

LoniceraJaponica · 23/07/2017 11:13

I stand corrected U2. It used to be believed that it was. My facts are out of date.

Sallystyle · 23/07/2017 11:14

My husband still thought urine was sterile until very recently. I had to show him prove that it wasn't.

To be fair. I don't think it was that long ago that I thought the same either.

SnickersWasAHorse · 23/07/2017 11:19

People who hover at home!!
What the living fuck?

Your home and choice I guess.

Surely it is a simple matter of choice and no big deal either way
It is a big deal because it is the hoverers who piss all over the seats.

Moreover having this attitude will be passed on to your children who will end up thinking that they can catch worms from toilet seats.

VladmirsPoutine · 23/07/2017 11:45

Why do people sit. I honestly can't understand why you'd sit on a public toilet seat.
I have been hovering since I was able to use the toilet alone and don't piss on the toilet seat. I also have very good thigh muscles now Grin

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2017 11:46

Why do people hover though? It's just odd. And as PPs have said can lead to UTIs.

HipsterHunter · 23/07/2017 11:49

If it is really grim like piss all over the seat and floor I hover.

If it is only a little bit grim I wipe up the wee from the seat (I always carry tissues) and sit.

The only way you can et piss ALL OVER the toiket seat/back/floor is if you are hovering. If everyone sat down it wouldn't get rancid.

HipsterHunter · 23/07/2017 11:50

And if you have isshooos with your bottom touching a toilet seat where another bottom has touched.... you need to get a grip.

Migraleve · 23/07/2017 12:11

Why do people sit. I honestly can't understand why you'd sit on a public toilet seat.

What part of sitting on a seat is difficult to understand? It is quite literally using it as intended.

llangennith · 23/07/2017 12:22

Hover. When DGS was little he'd ask loudly in public toilets "Why are you doing a stand up wee Grandma?"Confused

LoniceraJaponica · 23/07/2017 12:30

"Why do people sit. I honestly can't understand why you'd sit on a public toilet seat. "

a) Because it is more comfortable
b) I am not germ phobic. If the seat has been wiped clean (especially if you use antibac stuff) you can't actually catch anything from a toilet seat. I don't know why this myth persists.

I can't understand why people hover over a clean loo seat. Even medical professionals have said it isn't good for your bladder.

And if you have isshooos with your bottom touching a toilet seat where another bottom has touched.... you need to get a grip.

This ^^

What part of sitting on a seat is difficult to understand? It is quite literally using it as intended.

And this ^^

There are a lot of grips that need handing out today

Interestingly on a university visit with DD recently there were notices in the loos asking people not to squat on the loo seats.

LoniceraJaponica · 23/07/2017 12:31

"When DGS was little he'd ask loudly in public toilets "Why are you doing a stand up wee Grandma?""

Good Grin

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2017 12:32

I don't know how I did it but neither of my DSs have ever seen me have a wee in a public loo or otherwise.

Sparklingbrook · 23/07/2017 12:33

Perhaps you can buy a job lot from e-bay to distribute.

Bonez · 23/07/2017 12:41

Sit. I have a hoverer friend who refuses to sit on toilets and 9 times out of 10 ends up spraying piss on her trousers. Nice Wink

LoniceraJaponica · 23/07/2017 12:43

Do you think I could get a bulk discount Sparkling?

moutonfou · 23/07/2017 12:45

Lonicera a relative of mine works in a workplace with lots of people from other cultures (particularly India) and said the no squatting signs went up because lots of people were actually squatting on the seats (with their feet) and breaking the plastic seats. So perhaps it's the same in some unis with lots of international students.
