Public toilets - sit or hover?

Do you sit, hover or play it by ear? Grin

I would never sit on a public toilet. Only hover. I have glutes like Schwarzenegger now from all the squatting.

viques · 22/07/2017 18:40

The thing about hoverers is , they go all coy about sitting in case they contact where someone else's skin has touched, but seem perfectly happy to leave their piss behind for the next person. Strange logic.

nemno · 22/07/2017 18:41

Disabled people often cannot physically hover so all those who use and hover in disabled loos are arseholes unless they clean up after. And the occurence of poo splatter on the seats is definitely increasing.

Katedotness1963 · 22/07/2017 18:41

Sit. It's the hoverers who make the bloody mess.

MirandaWest · 22/07/2017 18:44

I sit. If the seat has wee on it I wipe it first.

RainyDayBear · 22/07/2017 18:45

Sit, there's more bacteria in your mouth!!

Friolero · 22/07/2017 18:49

Wipe the seat then sit

ChristmasFluff · 22/07/2017 18:49

Sit, after wiping due to hoverers. When you hover, you don't empty properly, and risk infection that way. Thighs, on the other hand, are not known for carrying loads of germs. More likely to get an infection from shaking hands than sitting on a loo seat.

Pinkgeek · 22/07/2017 18:51

I hover but never ever leave piss anywhere! I can aim well thanks! I just can't bring myself to sit on loo seats that probably haven't been cleaned for hours and have had a whole host of bums and bodily fluids splattered all over!!
Public loos are grim. In the US they are lovely so no idea where the UK is going so wrong.

grasspigeons · 22/07/2017 18:52

Seriously? How high do you think I can hover? I always check and there is never mess.

Sushi123 · 22/07/2017 18:54

Sit

WhamBarsArentAsFizzyAsTheyWere · 22/07/2017 18:54

As a cleaner of public toilets can I please ask you all not to hover.

Its manky enough having to clean them without having to wipe urine from round and under the seats too Sad

Put some paper down before you sit if you have to.

Also please explain why I find about 20 pregnancy tests and tonnes of empty food wrappers and alcohol bottles a day too

BlackeyedSusan · 22/07/2017 18:54

hover in disabled loo wipe with soap and dry. (which I do so dd who need help can sit. )

Aquathest · 22/07/2017 18:55

Hover and always tell DD to do the same. An outbreak of Threadworm in DCs school reinforced this too!
I always clean the seat afterwards though. I don't want anyone else germs and equally wouldn't dream of passing mine to anyone else.

CheeseAndOnionIcecream · 22/07/2017 18:56

I have to sit as I find I don't empty my bladder properly if I hover, and have also had a couple of unfortunate incidents with wee going the wrong way and ending up running down my leg! If the seat doesn't look too wholesome,I give it a wipe with one of the antibacterial hand wipes which I always carry a small packet of in my handbag.

Boredwithmyname · 22/07/2017 18:57

What on earth makes you think you'll get threadworms from sitting on a loo seat?

Natsku · 22/07/2017 18:58

Wipe with loo roll and sit. People that hover are the ones that make the seats gross.

Sparklingbrook · 22/07/2017 18:58

What do you do OP?

I have to be vv desperate to use a public loo. No hovering though.

SharkiraSharkira · 22/07/2017 18:59

Always sit. If it's that gross I either clean it first or I don't go there at all. Hovering is gross and weird. Plus my unique body geography probably means it wouldn't work anyway.

Natsku · 22/07/2017 19:00

Lots of public toilets round my way have seat cleaning stuff in the cubicles that you squirt onto a bit of loo roll and then wipe over the seat - maybe if they had that everywhere less people would hover?

Aquathest · 22/07/2017 19:01

Maybe it's ignorance but one of the mothers at school stated this is how her DD caught it. Luckily mine didn't and l assumed she was right.

WeddingsAreStressful · 22/07/2017 19:01

Wipe, lay down a thick layer of toilet paper on the toilet seat and sit. I hover if it's really bad though.

PenguinBollard · 22/07/2017 19:02

Sit. There are far more germs on the toilet paper than the toilet seat - toilet seats are designed to be a hard smooth su r face that is far less likely to hold bacteria. Toilet paper is rough and absorbant.

SnickersWasAHorse · 22/07/2017 19:03

You are far more likely to catch worms from a computer keyboard than a toilet seat. If her bumhole is in contact with a loo seat then you need to talk to her about how she uses it.

I don't get the logic of people who hover. What kind of bum AIDS do they think they are going to catch and how. I bet they happily use cash point and the like without bleaching them first.

That is teenage level play ground gossip.
You get threadworms by ingesting the eggs.
