to think that my phone is haunted? (half-lighthearted)

Today I woke up and found 2 new pictures on my camera roll. Here's the thing: they appear to have been saved onto my phone whilst I was asleep in another room (I live alone).

I have never seen these pictures before (1 was a street fashion photo of some random lady, and another was a picture of a cowboy hat), have checked and double-checked my Whatsapp history for anything someone might've sent me, and I've got AirDrop switched off.

Where could they have come from? Am I having visits from Casper the friendly ghost? Has Peeves the poltergeist found a way into my house?

Can you get the data on the photos? It should tell you when and where they were taken.

Don't ask me how to do it on a phone, I can do it on a pc but nothing else?

Anyone know how to get all the data on a phone image please?

Is it a second hand iPhone? or have you given an old one to someone else?

I gave a friend my old iPhone and I kept getting his pictures on my camera roll because I hadn't logged out of photostream on it! I had his call records as well!

This happened to a friend of mine- it turned out her boyfriend had sent it to her via whatsapp when he meant to send it to his friend. When the boyfriend realised his mistake he recalled the message so it deleted from her phone and it was though she had never received a message. Only she had her settings set so that any pictures sent via whatsapp auto save to her camera roll so even though the message was deleted the photos still remained on the camera roll.

blankface There isn't much data other than some random string of numbers for the file name. Kinda like the type of image you get when you go to google images and press "save image"?

catmumof1 Nope, it's a new iPhone. All my old iPhones are also sitting in my drawer so no chance of cross-account contamination there.

LordWontYouBuyMeAMercedesBenz I don't think it's from Whatsapp though. Reason being that I have switched the auto save and the auto download function off. I definitely did not know that you could recall messages in Whatsapp however!
