To wear my maternity clothes after pregnancy?

There are some pieces I love and want to keep wearing, will I look silly if I wear them post nursing?

Depends what clothing. I started wearing mat clothes after putting on loads of weight.

WindyScales · 18/07/2017 16:29

It depends on the cut of the clothes and how quickly your stomach goes down. My mat clothes were fine for a couple of months, but after that I was losing the weight on my stomach and the cut of the clothes would make the item hang in a strange way.
I'm currently very early days pregnant and again some clothes look ok and some just look weird as my bump hasn't really grown big enough for mat clothes.

I wore my maternity jeans for about six weeks after DD was born. I loved them!

I'm still in my maternity legging 3 years later, they're so comfy! And one huge top that I love.

I got a bag of hand me downs a couple of years ago and there were some maternity tops in with everything. As I was planning on getting pregnant I kept them and one top in particular I wore a lot, it didn't look like a maternity top. However now I am pregnant and bloated at 9 weeks, I'm not wearing it because now I have a bit of a tummy, it highlights it!

5 months pp here and still wearing the t shirts-enormous bf boobs don't fit very well into non maternity tops.

GlitteryGlitter · 18/07/2017 16:43

Still wearing my maternity maxi skirt and 2 maternity tops here a year later.
They are comfortable, this is all i care about.

I haven't put on a lot of weight and don't have a large bump, but I do feel like I'm getting bigger now.

I have a dress from topshop that I love which I don't think needs a large bump to fill it:

MATERNITY Ditsy Floral Tea Dress

And this one which does need some sort of bump I suppose

MATERNITY Embroidered Drawstring Dress

YANBU 12 weeks in I can fit back into my normal clothes fine but I really like wearing my maternity clothes still. Both look fine.

MamehaSan · 18/07/2017 16:44

Obviously it's up to you what you wear, OP, but I wonder why you want to keep wearing them?

At 5 months pp I've stopped wearing my maternity clothes and have started to get rid of them on ebay. Apart from them not fitting properly, I realised I was hanging onto them through some sort of misplaced hankering after pregnancy. I loved being pregnant both times, and the fact that we won't be having any more meant that it was difficult to make the decision to get rid. But now I have, I feel so much... lighter (I don't mean in a physical sense, I still have the tum to get rid of Hmm )

I just like the design of them. I've got a few sale items from topshop so they are pretty, not big-standard maternity wraps etc (see above).

Cross-posted, sorry, I didn't realise you were still pregnant! Smile
