I know it's been done to death but I need to get this out

Scrumptious.

Fuck that word. Just fuck it.

It's a stupid, self indulgent sort of word.

"Oh isn't he SCRUMPTIOUS!" Angry

It's such a childish word somehow. So Mary Poppins.

Action as a verb. 'Let's action x'. No, let's do x.
Medal as a verb, which seemed to be all over the last Olympics. Where the fuck did that come from?

Hushabyelullaby · 18/07/2017 20:58

Belly
Nom-nom
Chillax
Titties
Gusset
Likkle/Bokkle/Hospikal
Somethink/Anythink/Nothink, Mischeivious (mispronunciations and downright wrong, but they drive me mad all the same)
Slacks
Housecoat - no it's a fucking dressing gown!
And the piece de resistance, my most hated word in the existence of words.....frock

Beancounter1 · 18/07/2017 20:58

"Cohort", to describe the children in a year in school

feelingblue123 · 18/07/2017 20:59

Guff
Hubbie/hubby

BabychamSocialist · 18/07/2017 21:06

I know it's a phrase and not a word, but I hate "let's touch base offline"

Let's fucking not.

redjoker · 18/07/2017 21:06

schlong

LexieLulu · 18/07/2017 21:06

I hate when people refer to themselves as "yummy mummy"... yummy is a child's word, it's just ridiculous.

jpclarke · 18/07/2017 21:07

Euros. Euro is plural no need for the s at the end, it drives me insane. C#nt is such a disgusting word too.

OMFL · 18/07/2017 21:09

Stunning???!! Why is everyone or everything stunning???

jpclarke · 18/07/2017 21:11

Just thought of another, teaching a toddler to say 'Day day' for goodbye seriously who ever says day day in real life. Actually a lot of made up words that people use with babies drive me mad. Use proper words. And before anyone jumps down my throat I have three kids.

Cameron2012 · 18/07/2017 21:15

PerpendicularVincent · 18/07/2017 21:21

Wordplay. It just makes you sound like a twat. Fuck off with your wordplay.

I also actively dislike hubby, kiddies, including and holidays.

Starsandwishes · 18/07/2017 21:22

Ignorant

TroysMammy · 18/07/2017 21:22

"You're a legend". FFS I'm not King Arthur, I'm a Doctor's Receptionist and I've just given you an appointment time. Twat.

maitaimojito · 18/07/2017 21:23

Lush is my most hated word.

yourerubberimglue · 18/07/2017 21:26

@deloresclaiborne ... maybe it'd help if you spelt the word correctly 'phlegm'.

Sorry I'll leave now Grin

catsarenice · 18/07/2017 21:32

Crusty - ugh!
Also 'overseas' - as in 'when I worked overseas..' .Sounds pretentious to me - what's wrong with 'abroad'?

spankhurst · 18/07/2017 21:54

Belly. Why is it so toe-curling?
Bubs, hubs.
Blatant.

HolyShmoly · 18/07/2017 22:01

I have no issue with belly (well I have issue with mine, but that's another story) but I dislike when adults use the word 'tummy.'
Oh, have you a poorly tummy?
No but I do have a sick stomach.

Panties - the word just screams 'creepy sex offender'

Uber. I had a friend at school who used uber as an adverb a lot and even though it's been 13 years, it still bugs the life out of me.

Littleuns.

gingergenius · 18/07/2017 22:12

Wowsers.
Moist
Gusset
Anthropomorphism (mainly because I really struggle to pronounce it, and that annoys me)
Frenulum

Lucisky · 18/07/2017 22:12

My partners elderly father frequently refers to his "prostrate" problems. I feel it would be rude to correct him, but it irritates the hell out of me.
