I know it's been done to death but I need to get this out

Scrumptious.

Fuck that word. Just fuck it.

It's a stupid, self indulgent sort of word.

"Oh isn't he SCRUMPTIOUS!" Angry

It's such a childish word somehow. So Mary Poppins.

Also

Meal

Vulva: I just can't get my tongue around it.

GallicosCats · 19/07/2017 17:02

Another phrase that irritates me is 'd'ya know what' or 'you know what'. It usually precedes some reassuring but bland compliment like 'you're lovely' or a statement of the bleedin' obvious like 'that thunderstorm was SO loud'. The effect is anticlimax, as if your attention's been grabbed for nothing at all.

You know what, it reminds me of the need to make every sentence sound like a question? When you're not Australian? Wink

Babby
Dangle
Fam
And I am prepared to kill anyone who says pacific instead of specific

WinnieTheMe · 19/07/2017 17:44

"Sammich" instead of "sandwich". Unacceptable in anyone over the age of six.

"Om nom nom" from another over the age of four.

The more I read about 'meal' and the context the more I concur....

BeautyGoesToBenidorm · 19/07/2017 19:55

IDoDaChaCha · 19/07/2017 20:03

More to do with context but when a grown man refers to himself as 'lad' or 'boy'. Grrr....

"Critter"

It makes me think of beetles scuttling along, and thus makes me itch all over.

Aeroflotgirl · 19/07/2017 21:48

Oh yes cis, bubba, bubs, manshape, piv,

Thinkingofausername1 · 19/07/2017 22:29

Shuuuut uuuup

I absolutely cringe when adults say this to act cool.

tamaramcnamara · 19/07/2017 22:29

I hate cheeky if it is put in front of something like Nando's. Or Chinese meal. It just plays into the "indulging yourself with nice food is sooo sinful" thing. Urghh. Like when people say "oh you are so naughty" when you give them a present. From earliest childhood that phrase gave me the teeth grinding irritation.
