To think some people are just shallow?!

Name changed. Please be kind! I'm a little offended...

So I tried online dating. Got chatting to this guy. He asks me what I do for a living so I told him.
I also mentioned how I'm on long term sick leave as I dislocated my knee at work. I'm off for 6 months due to some damage it has caused and intense physio etc. Hopefully will be back sooner than that.

This was the response after he went quiet and I lightheartedly asked if that had put him off;

"Long term sick leave due to physical health issues" would put me off, if I was talking to a man. May have been better for you to say what you did for a living and that you'd twisted your knee. Your reply makes your health issues sound immobilising and to be honest not everybody is up for taking that on. I wouldn't be. He was a bit direct but thats better than ghosting. At least he told the truth. Put it down to experience why should you stop OLD? Don't give too much info and don't give it too soon, is best.

I'd have been put off by your job being your passion - there is more to life than having a relationship with a workaholic let alone a frustrated one who can't go to work.

I don't think what you told him is a problem. He wasn't the right date for you.

Not sure I'd be interested if someone had serious hello issues either tbh........Grin

It sounds rather mysterious (not in a good way) to refer to long term health issues rather than say you have a knee injury! Also you didn't tell him what your job is. You could have said 'I'm a (insert job)' and left it at that. Focus on positives when dating, not health issues!

TooSleepy Thanks for your kind words. Not sure how to PM on this App?

I'm choosing to ignore the bullying comments on here! NEVER will I post on AIBU again without needing to!
