To think that an accident near Princess Juliana airport was bound to happen sooner or later?

I really don't understand why the tourists would want to hang off of the fence for fun when it is actually so dangerous. Maybe now, safety will be taken more into account and people will be stopped from doing this

For those of you who aren't familiar planes take off right next to the beach so many people like to hang on to the fence and ride the air or whatever they like to call it.

There are quite a few videos on YouTube of people doing this as well.

That's very sad.

I guess the only way to stop it would be to close off that part of the beach/road.

It feels so spooky. DH and I have just come back from Sint Maarten.

I agree MrsH, to close that part off would be the ideal situation.

It's utterly bonkers that people are 'allowed' to put themselves in such danger!
We all know people are stupid, and often danger signs etc isn't enough.
