New thread so that we can await this morning's hearing.

Let's try to keep this one as sensible and measured as the past 5 threads have been.

Fingers crossed that this can all be resolved today and that Charlie and his parents can find peace.

I think live video evidence is better and means overall less to-ing and fro-img hopefully

ShatnersWig · 13/07/2017 11:13

Bore Not according to the Barmy. Still asking why it's the same judge. "Armstrong having to correct twat Francis"

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 11:14

Charlies army,

Happy to hear the judge being fair and positive for once! Maybe he's starting to see through GOSH Lies!!!

Smith He seems to be trying to justify his previous decisions too

Ceto · 13/07/2017 11:14

Judge: quick decision must not be at the expense of fairness. If we need more court time we shall have to find it.

He's absolutely right, of course. But I wonder if that puts a bit of a shudder through the parents' lawyers? This must be costing them a fortune.

WilliowGreen · 13/07/2017 11:15

Thank you for posting the link. I have bought some of the items. What they needed seemed such basic things ( baby oil cleaning products) that it brings it home to you how much money they will need to raise just for running costs.I think this would be a good campaign and I like the idea of raising money for existing charities especially less high profile hospitals who may not have as much money raised for them.

I know that families are particularly vulnerable to hardship after a berevment as they often give up work to care for their sick child and then don't have anything to go back to. I know a couple who had baby with mitochondrial disease and I dread to think how they feel watching this and seeing some of the insensitive comments.

LapinR0se · 13/07/2017 11:16

Armstrong: new information not available in April shifts balance of Charlie’s best interests in favour of receiving this treatment.

Ceto · 13/07/2017 11:16

Why 2pm today - that's why the court gave them a week. Are they just pushing the boundaries?

No, the previous hearing was Monday, so they had two days. It makes absolute sense to have video evidence during the court hearing so that the other parties can question the witnesses. The court and parties must have been given at least the basics of what the evidence will be about.

Babieseverywhere · 13/07/2017 11:16

Judge does come across well. Especially as how far travelled this case is. Going through all the courts and back to him.

I have faith he will get to the bottom of the facts.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 11:16

If he does not decide today, then connie and co are left dangling, which is a bit shitty really.

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 11:17

why was new evidence not available 2 months ago?

nauticant · 13/07/2017 11:18

I think live video evidence is better and means overall less to-ing and fro-img hopefully

I do too. It means the expert can develop what his position is, hopefully while being challenged, instead of producing an enormous document full of hedged bets and provisional views depending on as yet unclear factors X, Y, Z.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 11:18

GabsAlot, if it was available 2months ago, then why did they not present it at court on Monday?

alltouchedout · 13/07/2017 11:18

Those parents are not going to be able to cope with Charlie's death, whenever it comes. They just aren't.

Rhodiolia · 13/07/2017 11:18

It looks to me, this will have a happy ending. I think the court knows now they've f..k up and if they go with the order to switch his ventilator, there will be a big war even after that. And that's he's scared now!!

A war, really? Hmm

Ceto · 13/07/2017 11:18

On the Sky feed -

He (the Judge) says a huge amount of paperwork has been generated this week. If parties feel they need more time to absorb it, he will be sympathetic.

muckypup73 · 13/07/2017 11:19

Rhodiolia, I take it thats from the barmy army?

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 11:19

xactly or say so earlier in thir appeal

Ceto · 13/07/2017 11:20

Given that only four of CA managed to turn out to a much-trumpeted demonstration, I doubt that anyone is trembling in their boots at the prospect of a war.

smilingmind · 13/07/2017 11:20

GOSH said that evidence was available 2 months ago but the parents didn't present it

SunnySkiesSleepsintheMorning · 13/07/2017 11:20

Poor baby Charlie. Whatever happens from here, it's just so sad for him. I wonder how many people (mainly, the general public) have lost sight of that baby boy. My heart goes out to his parents too. They look broken, I can't believe that they can't keep on without making themselves very seriously ill. :(

LapinR0se · 13/07/2017 11:20

Armstrong: evidence that treatment has more than 50% chance of crossing the blood/brain barrier undermines finding that treatment is futile.

BoreOfWhabylon · 13/07/2017 11:21

I think the 'Dr in USA' referred to is the same one who originally originally offered the treatment... ie same one throughout. And quoted in April Judgement.

I don't think there has been a new American doctor entering the fray... ?

GabsAlot · 13/07/2017 11:21

now its 50%? this is crazy

GinSoakedTwitchyPony · 13/07/2017 11:23

Apologies all but the best contribution I can find right now is this :
Confused

BeyondDrinksAndKnowsThings · 13/07/2017 11:23

50% chance of crossing BBB is not 50% chance that he will be cured.
