Ive noticed this increasing it seems to pop up on what were trusted channels my kids used to watch and having to be even more vigilant than i already was. My eldest is 8 and some of these kids being chased round by daddy in a suit dont look that old its disturbing and more so that they gain financially from this. AIBU or has anyone else noticed this?

As I've never even heard of this craze, I doubt it is getting out of hand

HalfShellHero · 13/07/2017 08:36

Have you never seen the 'clown pranks" towards kids on youtube?

Clearly not

Is this one or two videos you've seen...., and it's not actually 'a craze'?

Eyre89 · 13/07/2017 08:57

No but I downloaded a masha and the bear app to look at with my ds. It takes you straight to YouTube and the video was something like Elsa and Thor chased by killer clown. I obviously shut it off and deleted it. It is the first time I've seen myself how easy things must be for children to see. He's only 3 1/2 so doesn't have Internet access but I'll have to make sure when I set up parental controls that things can't slip through.

I've not seen the ones you're talking about, do the children look distressed?

Eyre89 · 13/07/2017 09:00

I can't really answer of you are unreasonable or not as I've not heard anything about it or saw any pop ups which you'd expect if it was a new craze. There's generally some news about it. Is it just the one family and they think it's funny?

No idea what you're talking about and I have teens.

There's a YouTube Kids app that would be good for your son as it should have vetted content.

HalfShellHero · 13/07/2017 10:36

No ive a seen a lot of them pop up recently family channels basically having 'killer clown' or 'creepy xlown' appear the older kids dont some do but it does beg the question if its appropriate.
