To think putting your baby on the floor under the seat on a plane is not cool?

Just flew back yesterday from holiday and there was a couple across the aisle from me on the plane. They had a baby about 8 months and a toddler.

As soon as the seat belt sign went off after take off the mum sat her baby on the floor at her feet. Budget flight so no room at all hardly. The baby sat chewing on the dads shoe that he has taken off.

Mum then gives the baby her bottle and she falls asleep so mum lies her under the seat in front at her feet. The baby's head was right next to the aisle all this time with people passing and also the trolley going up and down. I thought the baby was going to get kicked or stood on.plus the floor was filthy with crisps and god knows what from the previous flight.

I actually offered to hold the baby in the end as I was so worried she would get hurt. The mum said no she's fine, thanks.

Would you have said anything in these circumstances.
It just would never have crossed my mind to put my baby on the floor of an aeroplane.

It's not great and I wouldn't have done it.

However, nor would I have taken a sneaky picture of someone else's child.

We all have our own boundaries, I guess.

But babies crawl around on the floor all the time. Is it really any different? I would have done this without thinking if my baby wanted to get down from me. I don't really get the fuss Blush

Something similar happend on my holiday this year, was happily sunbathing with DD having a nap in her pram in the shade beside me. Then my younger sister nudges me and says can you believe that. I could see what she was talking about at first then I looked down at the floor and these parents had put their little baby, no more than about 1 month old, on the concrete floor behind their sun lounger. I mean what the fucking fuck is wrong with some people.

Just getti g back to the thread due to dropping my phone and breaking it.

A few points that were addressed.

In hindsight, taking a picture was not on of my defining moments. I only took it to show my partner and then I deleted it. I'm not in the habit of taking pictures of random babies.

The baby's head was very close to the aisleand I was thinking that the trolley wheel may clip the baby's head or someone walking past.

The parents didn't take their eyes off their phones playing games the entire flight.

I should have mentioned to the cabin crew, that's my main mistake. I'm not some busybody. I'm not perfect, I've commited many a fuck up being a mother to 3. This was just something I've never seen before.

Oh and btw those saying there is no room to put q baby, there is. Not a lot but enough.
