A friend of mine had a cousin who happened to also be a cousin of Jim Kerr from Simple Minds. Although my friend was not actually related to Jim Kerr she referred to him as her half cousin. Another friend used to boast that she and Simon Le Bon were at school together, they did indeed go to the same school but not at the same time. Anyone else got any vague claims to fame?

i once looked after the the child of the drummer from the Wonderstuff for 2 minutes at a festival so his partner could use the portaloo.

My brothers ex girlfriend was once 'don't you know who i am' d by Danielle Westbrook of Eastenders/nose issue fame. it was over the late delivery of a pizza.

Alan Davis and I went to the same school twice - the two schools were in different counties and about 30 minutes from each other and we both changed schools at the same age although we were about 8 years apart.

I went to the same school as Jamelia...she'd left before I started.

I doubt many people will have heard of them, but the anaesthetist that reviewed me after complications from a spinal after having DD was one of the Amateur Transplants. DH was starstruck.

DH's uncle is a house designer. He designed and built a house for Mark Knopffler (Dire Straits) in the 90s and has recently been overseeing the work on a house for "one of Coldplay" - he won't tell us which one though!

Mark Lawrenson's (MOTD football pundit) sister was my PE teacher and he came to my sports day back in his Liverpool playing hey-day.
Once sat next to Ricky Hatton at a ManCity football match.
Nursed Jimmy Nails uncle.
A friend used to work begind the social club bar in Runcorn whilst Gary Barlow played the keyboards.

I sold Alex Pettyfer's dad a mobile phone.
My ex tutor taught Matthew Williamson fashion design.
My best friend at the time was the limo driver for Gym Class Heroes.
My siblings' clothing company know a few models, one at the moment Kieran Lee, on Big Brother, Mitch on Take Me Out, Few are in Corrie/Hollyoaks, few rappers/musicians.

Have quite a few non tenuous ones...but simply telling people you are married to Marshall Mathers III can't be nearly as much fun surely! Grin

My step mother had a half brother who was part of a 90s band who had a pretty famous hit (only the one!) and were on top of the pops. It was pretty cheesy and I was mortified as I was an oasis fan!

I've also touched David Beckham's left ear because when we were doing our groupie hangy round thing outside old Trafford on a Sunday morning he went around every single fan and gave autographs. He had a big dollop of bryl cream on his ear and I cheekily told him. So he told me to get it off. I got crowd jumped for that lol

My cousin friend is a cousin to someone quite well known from Towie. Cousin and her parents have met the Towie star.
My dad knew Cheryl Baker's brother and both my parents have been served in a bar by Eddie Marsden before he was famous.

My great aunt (now dec) was Beth Orton's aunt. I met her once at my grandma's. I didn't know who she was, but she chatted to my musical brother.

My grandma was cousins with Englebert Humperdink.

I have seen Laura Kuenssberg, bbc political editor, on the tube.
Someone I was at college with cousin was into the live shows of the X Factor while we were they.
I know several people that work for MP's and MEP's.
One of the Supreme Court judges visited my uni.
