WIBU to contact the building company and complain?

Very slightly lighthearted and I'm prepared to be told IABU but I'm fuming (I'm very tired after working late last night!)

Surely 8:15 am is not an appropriate time to start jackhammering the path outside our flats (I don't know if they're about to work on the tree which is completely fine or the pavement), especially when it's stop-start, they have another loud machine on and it's so so loud Angry

I saw on their uniform that they work for Conway (any idea what this company is for?), WIBU to complain to the company or should I have been awake anyway? Grin

I think after 8am is fine Tbh. Sorry!

8am seems to be the time workman start. Maybe should have given notice though??

Yep, 8am is the golden time.

We have builders out the back building new houses. I've had to complain as they have been starting machinery at 7.30 Hmm

Sparklefloof · 12/07/2017 09:11

Did not know 8 am was the typical start time for workmen. I would definitely lobby for 9 am starts when machinery is involved Grin
Longdistance 7:30?!!! I hope they listened to your complaint Shock

At least I'm awake now and can be productive I guess

check your council website, they should state what time the noise for building work is allowed.

I don't know if the rules are the same, around here acceptable hours for noisy work from construction and major building works involving equipment and machinery are 7.30am to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. No noisy work will normally be allowed on Sundays and bank holidays.

so unfortunately you couldn't complain about 8:15. The plonker bashing away on Sundays should not do so!
