It's been raining for weeks.
10 bloody degrees again today, had to put my heating on the morning.
I can't get my washing dry everything is sodden outside.

Oh for some sun and even 20 degrees would be lovely.

It's shite isn't it? I check the forecast twice a day in the faint hope of a heatwave.

Helendee · 11/07/2017 16:50

I'm in Bristol and it's been too sodding hot here for weeks now. O will gladly swap for rain and cool temperatures. I hate Summer! Smile

Cailleach666 · 11/07/2017 16:53

This is already the second week of the school holidays.

Yes a shame for the kids.

Playparks are cold and wet, slides covered with rain, we can't have BBQs or picnics.

It makes me laugh walking around Tesco looking at all the summer BBQ and picnic stuff.

I find I'm spending much more money as indoor type activities are costly

Whereas if it's sunny we just pack a picnic and go to various parks / beaches

And yes I know children don't melt in the rain but it's just not much fun being outdoors getting wet and muddy .

I just want to be able to wear my nice sandals and Floaty vests too Sad

I am also sick of seeing the BBQ food
I bought some lamb koftas the other night , cooked them in my oven grill and ate them on my couch in my flannel pyjamas and socks with the heating on

Cailleach666 · 11/07/2017 17:32

loadsa- yes you are right about children not melting in the rain.
And us scots have plenty practice in making sure kids have fun outdoors in all seasons- so we have plenty practice making the most of wet and cold conditions.

One month a year would be nice for kids to wear shorts and get a little sun on their bodies though.

The rain in West Yorkshire today is welcome by me as it's been mafting for a while but yes it would be tedious if we'd had it for ages.

I am south east and love warm weather. I feel for you guys. But if it's any consolation my house is the size of a postage stamp and costs a bloody fortune and we have no mountains! DH and I love Scotland, I think the climate is the main thing that would put us off living there for a couple of years.

N Yorks/Co Durham here and I'm fed up with the weather. We had a couple of sunny days two or three weeks ago, and other than that it's been cold, miserable and lots of rain. The garden's loving it but I'm not. I had the heating on earlier, I'm sitting here in a jumper and sheepskin boots because I can't get warm and wish I were anywhere other than here. My friends in the south are complaining of the heat, but funnily enough, don't seem very keen to swap places...

LovelyBath77 · 11/07/2017 20:13

It's pissing it down here. Sports day cancelled. Planning to hold it tomorrow not sure how with the ground this wet. So much easier for better weather with the holidays starting as well.

JT05 · 11/07/2017 20:39

In SW Scotland since Sunday, it's brilliant weather! Wall to wall sunshine and hot.
All those with rain further North have a couple of days off and nip down here!
It'll probably pour tomorrow!

The SE has been glorious. Tonight we have some rain which I'm happy to see for the garden. Best summer since 1976 here
