So sons HR department clearly misread his address on initial forms.

So post had been going two doors down to neighbour.

She dropped round some letters from HMRC, so DS informed them wrong number house, they've sorted it.

Not had anymore letters misdelivered as far as we knew.

DS had expected some letters from HR department regarding change in salary ......... never arrived, they said they were sent. Anyway they emailed them? So all sorted thought no more.

Tonight, neighbour knocks and has two letters for DS. They wee workplace pension letters, so from this we have assumed that it's DS HR department that are the common link (maybe wrong) but

  1. HMRC
  2. missing letters from work
  3. Workplace pension letters going there.

She's returned to us 4 letters (2 tonight), yet reckons she'd had LOADS! But she didn't know who those were for, so binned them?!? But suddenly remembered our name?

She knocked tonight haven't not delivered a letter for about a year! Saying from now on can your son make sure this doesn't happen again! Again stating I could just bin those and I've had others that I've probably binned forgetting they were yours.

  1. You altered us to HMRC, he sorted
  2. The letters from HR for son, you've clearly binned. Didn't therefore know they've got wrong address
  3. Workplace pension stuff is annual statement, first time received it as it's an annual statement, so yes he will sort.

DS was at work, so she spoke with me, with the demand from now on, make sure this doesn't happen again....

Really aggressive .... I responded with "sorry DS at work, we weren't aware any issue other than the one from HMRC that you alerted him to and he's rectified! But feel free to either put return to sender and put back in post box, further walk than to our door! Or just dispose!

She was stood there saying "I know what these people are like" when I said it's his workplace pension stuff........I said well he can only inform them and it's the first he would know about it"

AIBU to see this as over dramatic about possibly six mid delivered letters in a year. Which if she redelivered the letters could've been rectified!

Actually i had someone trying to comit benefit fraud using my address not that long ago, we live on the same street, they couldnt put the address they lived at because it would have affected their partners benefits so they kept putting my addrss and "forgetting" to get it changed. I ended up returning them a few times with not known at this address to get it sorted. I know a credit rating is against a person not an address but I still object to my address being used for benefit fraud

But we were only alerted to one issue HMRC, which was immediately changed. Not least as the letter that had gone astray was a £800 refund.

The other letters we were not aware of, so couldn't change.

Now, this new lot and we have put two and two together and realised how this had happened.

But honestly her attitude of this must not happen again....WE WERE NOT AWARE OF A FURTHER ISSUE, YOU HAD NOT ADVISED US OR PIT RETIRN TO SENDER!

She's giving it I know what these companies are like, for goodness sake! It was a human error, we will advise them!
