...to buy a swimsuit with legs?

Sorry for the strange wording. But I need a new one-piece swimsuit as I swim about three times a week for fitness. Most suits nowadays seem to be pretty high cut and I really dislike shaving my pubic area. Even trimming the hair doesn't seem to cut it. WIBU to buy a swimsuit that has built-in shorts like the one pictured? Or will I look strange? I should say that my body does not resemble the model's.

I have a nice swimsuit from sainsbugs with a skirt

Gleegeek, many have built in support, like a shelf lining. This speedo one does (I just bought one in the sale) and it also has slim pads which you can remove through a slit or keep in place (I remove them).

Thanks Puddock I didn't know that. I'm going to give that one a try.

Why are posters saying they're not suitable for the beach? I wouldn't look twice at anyone wearing any of these at the beach. The beach is the perfect place to wear swim wear of any type!

I have this one from Decathlon, though I only bought it the other week and haven't been swimming yet.

Just to warn you; I bought one and it looks ugly on me. But I'm a short fat person

zigzagbetty · 13/07/2017 07:44

I just bought a slazenger one for the same reason. Ive started baby swimming lessons and do not have to time or the inclination to bother with hacking away at my bikini line!!

PorklessPie · 13/07/2017 07:49

I bought this one, I don't care if other people don't like it but it makes me feel far more comfortable. I'm an 8-10 but don't like high cut costumes that I have to pull out of my bum

I've seen people wearing leg suits - they generally look really nice!

MidniteScribbler · 13/07/2017 11:18

I just wear a regular swimsuit when in my own pool (although I prefer to go without at night when DS is in bed and I'm on my own!). When at the beach, I either wear boy leg pants with a tankini top, or if I'm wearing a regular swimsuit, I will also often wear a swim skirt over it. Mine are similar to this pic (also have some that come to the top of my knees). They're a separate piece, so they don't look the old swimsuit with skirt built in that granny used to wear.

Porkless that's lovely! May I ask where it's from?

PorklessPie · 13/07/2017 22:26

@RiverTam it's from Amazon Smile I had an all black version last year. They wear really well and have underwire in for extra support.

ElleMcElle · 13/07/2017 22:33

I have one for exactly that reason - can't be bothered to shave or wax and deal with itchy regrowth, but don't quite have the confidence to parade around with it all hanging out (wish I did!). I do feel a little bit self conscious, but I'm often not the only woman at the pool wearing one. Go for it! Nobody really notices once you're in the water anyway.

TheNoodlesIncident · 13/07/2017 23:55

The advantage of the shorter leg ones like the one Barbara posted, is that you can hoik the leg aside when you go for a wee! I can see the longer length one would be trickier for that but then you could always "go" in the shower, couldn't you...? Wink
