...to buy a swimsuit with legs?

BaldricksTrousers · 10/07/2017 13:51

Sorry for the strange wording. But I need a new one-piece swimsuit as I swim about three times a week for fitness. Most suits nowadays seem to be pretty high cut and I really dislike shaving my pubic area. Even trimming the hair doesn't seem to cut it. WIBU to buy a swimsuit that has built-in shorts like the one pictured? Or will I look strange? I should say that my body does not resemble the model's.

Not drunk, just careless typing, honest.

Tercear · 10/07/2017 14:21

I bought one like this with just slightly shorter legs yesterday in Sports Direct :) Whilst I regularly shave my legs, I also have very thick dark hair (and getting even thicker in current pregnant state it seems), so this definitely helps with the bikini area :) I say go for it!

mummymeister · 10/07/2017 14:22

I am fat and I have one of these and honestly I would not have gone swimming or in the water at all without it. it holds everything in and makes me much less self conscious than in a swimming costume.

ConstanceCraving · 10/07/2017 14:24

Fine for going to the pool in. Not the beach though.

CMOTDibbler · 10/07/2017 14:26

I wear the Sports Direct boyleg ones for pool swimming and they are great. They are also high cut at the front, so don't gape or gather water when you do turns.

Troels · 10/07/2017 14:28

Dd is 12 and has a short leg one from Sports Direct, she does lap swimming each week and loves it.

mummymeister · 10/07/2017 14:29

I wear mine on the beach. I don't really care if it doesn't look right. its comfortable, I can sit and read a book without wondering what else people can see and if you have a fat stomach there is no danger of it riding up. I often put board shorts over it too.

specialsubject · 10/07/2017 14:29

Those look really good on anybody, and in addition to covering normal hair growth, they also won't vanish up your backside.

Buy it!

Fink · 10/07/2017 14:30

Have you tried one on? I wanted one for the exact same reasons but when I went to try them on they were all really unflattering & strange looking. In the end I went for an ordinary Speedo and honestly you can't tell when I haven't waxed until you're within about 6 inches of my crotch (I have thick, dark, hair), which isn't normal swimming pool etiquette!

FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 10/07/2017 14:34

I've had one of these from sports Direct - loved it, so nice not to worry about stray pubes. I also now have a two piece (also sports direct) which is a tankini top and a little skirt/bottoms which is quite flattering and also covers the top of my thighs.

FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 10/07/2017 14:35

Out of interest, why are people saying ok for the pool but not the beach?!

GerdaLovesLili · 10/07/2017 14:37

Why "not for the beach"? I don't understand.

ItsNachoCheese · 10/07/2017 14:39

I got mine like the ones above in pics for £15 from sports direct as like op i find shaving a pita. I got it and feel a lot more comfortable taking ds swimming

FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 10/07/2017 14:39

This is my set. I did try the swim dress but it didn't sit right. These are ideal and if I ever choose to get my tumpkin out for a bit of sun I can just hoik the top up!

I wear a two piece tankini which is shorts and a top and because it's a two piece it looks much more acceptable

PyongyangKipperbang · 10/07/2017 14:42

Just what I was about to ask Feedme!

Who do you think is judging Chestnut? (Apart from you, obviously).

chestnut199 · 10/07/2017 16:11

I'm just extra paranoid

aaaaargghhhhelpme · 10/07/2017 16:19

Go for it op (I know you are already just thought I'd add my support!)

The only thing I'd say is to try a few on. I found the fit a bit odd (and not very flattering!) course that could just be me and my mum tum...

Happy swimming!

GerdaLovesLili · 10/07/2017 17:06

I'm paranoid too Chestnut. That's why I'd rather be covered up as much as possible . And have less of me to cover in sunblock.

NevermindtheBollocks · 10/07/2017 17:09

floof reread my post Hmm

I just think that who are you shaving for?..... I doubt anyone will notice a few pubes sticking out. Even if they do, who cares?! Men get to do it and nobody cares.

tumblejumble · 10/07/2017 17:14

This is nice

I now want one

elevenclips · 10/07/2017 17:35

The suit in your op looks like a racing suit. If you are swimming lengths I think you'd look perfectly normal in it.

MagicMoneyTree · 10/07/2017 17:35

I'd rather wear a swimsuit like that than have pubes sticking out the side. Hope I don't get flamed for saying that- I don't want to see a man's pubes sticking out his speedos either!
